Garbage collection fee

Has anyone with a holiday home in SG managed to pay the garbage bill which was pushed through the letterbox (or in our case, the keyhole)? I am told it had to be paid within 8 days. Tried phoning a number on there, but all I can get is "no ingles".

Any suggestions?

You actually have till the 9th December to pay the bill, which has been delivered to the properties and you cam pay this at any bank by taking the piece of paper in

After the 9th December there will be a small fine for non-payment and you will then have to go to the Town Hall and get a new bill and suggest best to setup a standing order

If you have a keyholder then they should have the bill and I am sure can pay it for you

Do not worry ,just sorted suma out after the bank changed,and stopped all payments ,only charged 30euros for 3 years ,so just pay it when you next in spain. .

Will cost more to send money over.

Hi eagle were in Spain when the council man came in his little white van ringing gate bells and asking you sign for a invoice .(he could not speak English ) our problem we should speak Spanish). 

We sighed the paper ,and translated it ,to find it was a bill for the bins .

We went to the bank and just paid .

you could send some one the money to Spain to pay the bill at any bank ,before earilyrinovember dec.

Hi yes they add a small amount of intrest .the bill is about 10 euros a week.

Paid the 324.80 today, so no 10 euro fine!

What happens if we didn't sign it was stuck in gate.  

hi denis .we had the same problem with a note stuck in our gate and have had to go to murcia to resolve it..it was easy to do and even though the last date to pay the bill had gone all they did was print another bill with a different date and we then paid it at the bank no penalties were added .........dennis

Paid the garbage fee  as soon as it came in.Now have  just had the Water bill (which covers two months) and it has two payments of €20.30  taken for Garbage.

Our water usage for the two months was €1.24 . As we are not there, this must have been for the garden hose. The total bill came to €68.24 ..So,€34.12 per month,when you are not there, seems rather steep!  I take it that everyon else has the same ?
