I guess you will have all seen the communication from AEA regarding pool bands that are needed from 1st July to end of August.  Owners of 2 bed apartments get 4 bands and 3 bed apartments get 6 bands.

How does this work for owners of two bedroom apartments who rent their apartment out to say a family of six. Before anyone says, you can easily sleep six in a two bed apartment.  If you are fully booked during july and august with different families, will they let you have 6 dedicated guest bands for the whole duration or have to keep bringing them back and taking them out again for each booking.  I will end up having to take this up with AEA i'm sure, but I would be interested in everyones thoughts and interpretation before I do.

I think that you should be able to obtain as many guest bands as you wish for whatever duration you wish - without having to return them every week!  I have seen nothing stating a time limit on these.  Even for those renting out their two beds to, say, three guests who themselves may want to invite friends over, it shouldn't be a problem if you have 'rented', say, 4 guest bands for July and August.

I picked mine up on Friday from AEA's office, for a 2 bed apartment you will get 4 green 'owners' wrist bands and be allowed to buy two yellow 'visitor' bands, so should not cause any issues if you have 6 using your apartment. No need to take the visitor ones back, they cost 5 euro each.

The scheme is a good idea, but whilst I am not the largest guy, the bands only just went around my wrist, so if you have any large guests they may struggle to wear them. They are a buckle type rather than the solid charity bands you tend to see around a lot.
