There are a few of us in a complex near Port Duquessa who have managed to hand apartments back to their bank without affecting their UK credit rating and protecting any assets. Each one of us has been a little different but it has happened. Not sure if people know that there is help available and is successful with most of the banks (a Scandinavian bank doesn't negotiate but I can't remember the name). Once the keys are handed over the bank has to pay the community fees so the community isn't at risk either. Contact me if you are interested in knowing more.
