Can someone advice on nearby, say max 2 hours car ride cities to visit
We are coming down for a week and thought we would visit other towns/cities this time

Plenty choice.....Murcia, Cartagena, Lorca, Mojacar. Depends on your requirements. "Murcia Today" website is useful,

We drove down to Granada to see the Alhambra Palace in the summer.  What a beautiful city.  The Alhambra is fascinating and there is a great vibe about the city.  Stayed in a decent hotel (booked through laterooms) for around £30.  We had a ball.

Almeria is a nice place to visit,about 2 hrs straight down the A7.

I made it a weekend and stayed in a lovely little place on the coast called San Jose,used that as a base and drove the 1/2 hr to Almeria..
