Oooh! This Puccinis sounds lovely. Can someone please tell us exactly where it is? We are  not far from Torrevieja, (southern end) which end is the restaurant? We are always on the look out for nice places to eat!!

We hoped to go to Cocos in Almoradi at Christmas, but it was closed for a week, so missed it. We went to the restaurant near the petrol station, past Amarion III  rear, into the industrial part. If you like very Spanish food you will love it. It was very oily and salty. They could not speak any English and our Spanish is very limited ( ashamed to say) ! There were 5 of us we all ordered a starter each, but  ended up with, 5 starters FOR 5! Tried "bien hechol" for well done steak, but it had to go back 3 times! The poor waiter said Mas y Mas and we said por favor! Thought we were getting it right, must learn more Spanish!! They did have a menu/dictionary but it did not seem to work. If you try it please take a phrase book and dictionary, unless you are fluent Spanish! Bless the poor waiter.

There is a really nice Chinese on the Punta Prima roundabout on the N332  south of Torrevieja before you get to Playa Flamenca!  They bring you a FULL crispy duck  and carve it at your table. We didn't try it but our mouths were watering. What we had was lovely, but when we go this month... we will be trying the duck!!

Please, Gabe or lajj, could you give us directions to Puccinis? Thanks.

John and Trish

Hi John & Trish,

Directions to Puccini's - join the N332 behind the Carrefour, then head towards Cartegena.  After the first roundabout, carry straight on and Puccini's is on the left in the slip road, next to a used car garage.

Another nice restaurant we found by accident last week (the weather wasn't very good, so decided to eat & drink ourselves silly!), is Eduardo's in Villamartin Plaza (www.eduardos-villamartin.com).  Great for Sunday lunch but also very busy so worth making a reservation.

Hi john Trish i see someone else also reccommends Pucchinis also just b4 you hit the roundabout coming rfom torrevieja they are refurbushing another nice one called Pizza restuarante it just stands back from the road they are doing alot of new buildings but you can't miss it not as elegant as Pucchinis but staff and food very good just more spanish though they speak good english and always full.On the small matter of news on the building work did speak to Isabell Yesterday and she said they worked for twnety days in January and then downed tools again ,When Ron and I went we did notice that they had put a lot of building blocks on the roof, but just thought had we missed them b4 so did'nt like to say, but they are still talking to the bank 'think we are just going to sit back for the time being and see how it goes as like you all getting stressed out I am thinking if it happens it happens if not I will have to put it down to experience and look for a resale next year. But will keep in touch as I promised the bubbly and i don't go back on my word just find a beach somewhere to drink it and think what could have been.Regard Gabe

Hi lajj and Gabe, thanks for the directions. Will try and get there when we go out, we should be able to find it ok now.

We are hoping for nice weather  while we are there, but we have got lots to do anyway. We will still need to eat of course!!! As for drinking...its our friends birthday while we are there, so I guess we will be having plenty of "falling down water". Must try to keep a clear head for meetings with solicitors and the Notory for our Spanish wills!!!! Just have to have one bottle of wine with our meals(EACH)

Have heard good reports about Eduardos also, will give that a try too, if not this time, when we are over again in June.

Cheers John and Trish
