Hi all

just got back from a wet a windy week at our apartment

when we arrived we discovered that some of the stair tiles had broken away and quite a few were cracked

i remember reading on here some time back that other people had the same problem

also in the downstairs small front bedroom the light shade was full of water and the ceiling was damp

we would be grateful for any advice

we have spoke to milenium and they said its a building fault and they cant help

Ray

We had a similar problem in our top floor apartment with the light fitting filling up in the hallway. I havent seen heavy rain for a while yet, but did the following to try and prevent any further rains coming in.

1 - Check drain on the floor above was not blocked and removed any dirt and twigs. If you are on the ground floor, may be worth checking that the drain out the front of the above apartment is not blocked instead.

2 - Reduced the size of the roof vents for the extract fans.

3 - if the water is coming in below a stair case, check that the stairs are not slopping the wrong way and running backwards and there are no cracks in the corners to let the water in.

Hope this helps.

We have had problems with damp inside and out by the front door - we have contacted Mileniun and they said this is a Polaris problem we have sent pictures and emails and have even taken pictures to the Polaris offices but  they will not get back to us they have the spanish mentality they think if they dont answer then you will go away  we paid alot of money for our  place so we want to try and keep it up to scratch

The cause at ours is the steps are sitting back on the way up to the terrace and water collates then seeps through by the front door

Inside the plaster has now come off the walls and it seriously needs to be rectified but no one is showing any interest this has been going on for about 3/4 years i have resealed all the grout going up the stairs
