Dear members of the Kalendas Community Forum,

We are considering buying in Kalendas, and are trying to obtain some information on the community/development. And lo and behold we stumble upon your forum! You seem to have been living in turbulent times in Kalendas. I read a lot about your trying to establish the community and its committee. The last information thread I could find seems to end in November 2009. That is a long time ago, and I am sure you must have progressed further than trying to evict the president!

During our recent visit and viewings there we spoke to a Spanish resident, who did not know what the community fees are and said that they were not being paid due to all services not being in place. Also that there were a lot of problems. That was somewhat disconcerting, especially for the representative from CAM Bank who was with us, and who realised that we could follow the gist of what the resident was saying in Spanish!

Would someone therefor be able to provide me with information on the following:

a. What is your situation now, regarding the functioning of your Homeowners Association/ Community committee?

b. What are the community fees and what services do they cover?

c. And if the fees have not yet been established, what  communal services would need to be covered by them?

We would very much appreciate a reply.

Kind regards

Fred and Rachel Koetje

Hello Fred

I have not been back over for 3 years, there is a lot of issues on site including sub standard work by Procumasa with no chance of getting work done, some residents waiting over 3 years

At the moment community fees cannot be paid due to a frozen account, due to the issues with former President

Sewage is an issue, Council needs to adopt system

Pools have an issue over electricity

Street lighting needs to be adopted by Council

It is a beautifull place, just make sure you get everything done before you move in

If you would like more details from the Presidents who actually have been voted for by the community i would be willing to forward details by private message.

Dear Sir

Sorry, I did not get your name from your message, but thanks so much for the initial info. I would very much like to receive the names and contact details (e-mails if possible) on the elected presidents. Unfortunately this site does not allow me to include a link or e-mail address as I have not yet made at least 10 posts. We will have to make another plan.

Kind regards

Fred Koetje
