A statement has been posted on the Entidad website under the heading "Election of the New Administrator".  We can assume that the statement has been approved and authorised by the Entidad board as it appears on the Entidad controlled website.  I'd strongly encourage all owners interested in their Community to read this statement.  www.eeuuconservacionrodagolf.com

The statement confirms that the previous Housing Administrators were requested to resign by a group of Presidents following legal advice.  The reason for requesting their resignation was stated as a 'loss of confidence'.   No information has been provided as to what led to this loss of confidence.

In November, our Entidad President wrote to owners merely stating that the previous Administrator had resigned.  No explantion was given.  Since then, there has been a growing number of owners at Roda who have been unhappy with the continued silence.  They have tried to obtain further information but have been denied by the Entidad Board and Communtiy Presidents who have refused to discuss matters stating legal advice.  However, this latest revelation from our Entidad Board vindicates all those who have been pushing for full disclosure.  That said, this statement, cannot be viewed in any way as being conclusive.

The Entidad Board's position of refusing to disclose the facts leading up to the removal of the previous Administrator, or even engage with concerned owners on the matter, was unsustainable.  It is clear that they are concerned about the reaction they will receive at the forthcoming AGMs and hope that by giving a few additional morsels of information they will be able to quell unrest amongst owners.

Far from quelling this matter, this statement from our Entidad Board now raises more questions than it answers.  I hope our elected officials will be ready to respond at the upcoming AGMs to the genuine concern of owners at Roda - concerns regarding a very serious matter to which they have been denied answers.

Clear as mud!

Surely as residents paying our dues, we ought to be given a better explanation as to what's gone on. If there's no financial loss, that's at least something?

No doubt more will be revealed (or found out) in due course.

Yes, you will need both. I think Housing gave me mine some time back. I presume you should email Resortalia to get them.

PAL - you said "Clear as Mud"

White-wash, utter tripe and bullsh1t comes to my mind.

The president for P12 has put it on our website with a covering note saying :-
"This statement has also been released in the hope that this question will not be raised at the forthcoming Entidad AGM and Community AGM’s as it will not be possibly to give any further answers as previously indicated"

In her letter the Entidad President says :-
"We were assured that neither the Entity or any Community, had suffered any financial disadvantage as a result of any of the alleged activities."

Sorry - if the alledged activities meant calling in a lawyer (and I wonder who us paying for this) then there is something more than "loss of confidence" going on, imho

Forgive me if I am incorrect in my thinking, but we as owners pay entity fees which included Housing's fees, surely we are entitled to know why " our administrators" have resigned? We employed them to give a service, we need to be told why they " resigned".

Also I have been in touch with my President who informs me that we were never informed AT ALL other than by way of gossip that started on the golf course! Who used the expression " it's good to talk"?

I totally agree with you. There are also a growing number of owners who have been in touch with me who share our concerns.

Our Presidents intend to ask owners to ratify the removal of the previous Administration and also the appointment of Resortalia as our new Administrator at the forthcoming AGMs. Owners will be asked to vote on this whilst being denied the FULL facts relating to this matter. Furthermore, when we ask these legitimate questions, its appears we will be met with a wall of silence from our Presidents. How dare they!!

This is a deliberate attempt by a few, to have this matter swept under the carpet. These same people are denying owners the right to have this matter fully aired, fully investigated and fully debated. How else can we as owners, ensure that the proper checks and balances are put in place, in order to prevent a repeat of this sorry mess. Disgraceful!!

Hi Innes and Pommers,

You have my total support .
I feel, and so do many others, that by way of association, all the board members, especially the president, should resign.
New board members and new administrators, and what we need is that ALL voices attend the AGM and express their total displeasure with the way the whole incident has been handled, unfortunately, the voices disappear when they are most needed.
Everybody must remember that they pay the salary of the administrators, not the president!

As I said on another thread, the lack of communication is becoming damaging and divisive.  I know the task of looking after the communities and entidad is pretty thankless and let's not forget, unpaid  and think we should be careful what we wished for - if everyone resigns en masse - who will step in?  I for one am not in a position to take over any of the tasks involved.

However, I really do think that those in power must listen to the concerns from owners who simply cannot get their heads around the fact that Housing resigned so suddenly, yet there is nothing for us to worry about and we should  not ask questions?  I don't want to be viewed as a trouble-maker, and genuinely appreciate the unpaid work done on our behalf, but I just know a more coherent explanation than that we have been offered, is called for.

I can't remember who said it, but transparency promotes trust, secrecy promotes distrust.

Hi JaneJohn

You’re quite right.  The lack of communication is extremely damaging and divisive.  Bear in mind, this is the strategy that has been put in place by our Presidents, not the owners.  The job of President is a bit of a thankless task and it is unpaid.  But no one forces these people to put their hands up each year.  The Community has been established long enough for people to know what they are getting into before volunteering.  There will be lots of people in your position unable to devote the necessary time.  On the flip side, there will be many others who can and are keen to take their Community forward in an open and transparent way….unlike the current establishment.

Again, you are absolutely right.  It is time that the establishment listen to the genuine concerns of owners and answer their questions.  We are told by the P12 President that the recent statement (which didn’t tell us anything) has been issued in the hope that there will be no further questions from owners at the AGMs.  I have to tell you that anyone asking questions will be viewed as a ‘trouble maker’ by the establishment.  It’s their way of discouraging owners from pushing for answers.  But again, you are totally right…they must listen to owners and tell us the TRUTH.

Yes, I was trying to make the point that to ask questions doesn't have to be taken as criticism, it could viewed as  a good opportunity to communicate with concerned, fee-paying owners what is happening on their resort.
