Hi all

We purchased in FH about 2.5 years ago. We have one of the duplex apartments on the very top level. The in-laws spent a couple of weeks there in August and desperately tried to get hold of anyone who could give them an update on the site as it's still pretty much a building site!

Unfortunately they didn't have much success and we are still in the dark as to when the pool might be finished, when the bin men might start coming up to site rather than having to dump our rubbish at the tennis club, when the post might start being delivered rather than being left in the security hut under the archway as you enter the FH area etc, etc!

Even the English couple who have just started living in the apartment next door to ours have no idea what's going on with the development and who to talk to to get any information.

It's good news to hear that there are rumours of a golf course development behind FH (although I shall miss looking at the mountains out of the bathroom window when I shower!!).  I think in about 5 years time this site will be great and we will have a lot more ameneties, but for the time being I think we will have to grin and bear the dusty pot hole roads and having to travel to the Carrefour to pick up a loaf of bread!

Our friends are going out there in a week so they will try and find out more, and also what the re-sell value is.

Hi I've also bought at Forest Hills, on one of the top floors. And I'd love to know the same things as you - let's share the information! Our major disappointment with this development is that when we bought it (also about 2.5 years ago) - we were told by the promoters ( as well as given a promotional leaflet) that the appartment was furnished - but now when it's close to completion we're only getting bare walls, and all of a sudden need to sort out the kitchen, the furniture etc!! I wonder whether anybody else in Forest Hills Phase 2 had the same experience?

Hi, I have bought on this development.  I have been told various times for completion., latest being Sep 06.  Has anybody been there lately and have any recent photos or know even if it has been completed?  I am talking about phase 5

Sue

Hi Tanya

We had similar problems although not as bad.  We got a kitchen, table & chairs, sofa, TV cabinet/shelves combo and a bed frame, but no mattress or blind for the Velux window.  We complained, but the FH people in the portacabin were no help and we had to buy our own mattress.

I don't know if somehow you're better off not having any furniture because what they put in is rubbish anyway - the kitchen is tiny and there's not enough storage space. The rest of the furniture with the exception of the sofa is cheap and flimsy and we plan on replacing it all as and when money allows!

Hi Sue - our friends have just come back from a week there so I'll see if they have any photos.  Which bit is phase 5 if you're looking up from the road with the sea behind you?  Is it over on the right?

GOLF COURSE NEWS - this can be confirmed.  I've seen the plans for a HUGE development behind our site.  It's part of a luxury Spanish hotel chain (Gvdalphin or Gvudophin something like that!!).  We were trying to work out where the access road will be for it, and kind of hoping it wouldn't be up behind us as this would mean our road not being tidied up for another XXX years!!

Hi everybody! Heard good news from our solicitors - "The developer confirms that the communal areas and pool are all finished and they expect to receive the licence of first occupation tomorrow or the day after. Unfortunately we can be no more specific about what the urbanization looks like, but this is really the Estate Agents responsibility to let you know."  Has anybody been there recently to confirm? Or heard more from your estate agents? Also - have you heard anything about when they're going to do the promised gardens? I've also heard that they cleaned up the hill side in front of the development (it looked like a rubbish bin in spring). But the best news of course is the golf course! That should really lift the development up.

That's great news!

I thought the in-laws might be going out in Autumn half term but the prices for flights are sky high at the weekends and mother in law seems to think it's not worth the trip just for a few days.  We've tried to talk sense into her and get her to go out there even if it's just for a few days midweek when the prices are cheaper but .....

Anyway I digress - I won't be going out there until the end of November so won't be able to check if the pool is really ready until then.

They had cleaned the hillside in front of the development somewhat in June but then some of the residents started dumping household rubbish there instead - it was horrible!

Tanya - are you going to be able to get out there again this year to have a look?
