Hello everyone

Apparently there was an article in one of the newspapers over the weekend (might have been the Mail) concerning rental tax or wealth tax in spain for residents and non residents. We were wondering if anybody read the article or has any information on the subject. Do you still have to pay rental tax on a property that is not rented out?

On a completely different subject, has anybody been able to choose their own floor/wall tiles etc. We were under the impression that as it was a new build we could choose tiles etc as long as it remained in the existing price range, of course we would have to pay the extra if a more expensive tile was used. However, after making an enquiry last week this is not the case, we all have beige.

Best wishes to all

Adrian & Dorothy

Adrian and Dorothy,

When we bought our place, Taray told me that there is no choice on interiors at all. Everyone has whatever was in the showhouse/show apartments. This way, Taray are in control of time-scales. Their reputation is built on them being high quality and not going over expected finish dates, if people wanted variations, this would impact on deadlines.

Karen

Hi Adrian & Dorothy

We were told that unless you are resident in Spain you are taxed as if you rent the property out even if it is purely for your own use.

Hi i asked for the tiles that they used in the villas but was told NO it would confuse the builders but i was told that they are changing the tiles in the quads and they are putting corner windows in the lounge and they are 6m2 bigger.

i also was told that if you live in the property for so many months of the year you dont pay the tax so you know what to do then lol.

just booked some flights for november ryan air had some flights for a penny + taxs

Adrian & Dorothy,

Re tiles: like Karen, we were told that there was no individual choice.

To raise a new subject, does anyone know of a good reputable rental & management company in the area?

Regards,

Kevin & Sheila (plot 47)

Hello Julia Baker!

Being a newcomer to this message board, maybe I have missed or misunderstood something along the line, but Julia, you sent me a private message which appears to come from noreply@eyeonspain.com with no 'real' email address for me to reply to. How do I respond privately to you? I guess you don't know my actual email address either, but I shouldn't have to post my email address in public (?). The other solution would be for you to post a public message so that I can reply privately to you.

Please advise.

Kevin & Sheila
