I've had my apartment on Terrazas for quite a while now but i have yet to pay any electric bills. I thought this was set up by Polaris when siging contracts like the water. Can anyone advised me of what i have to do? I'm quite worried i will now have to pay a very big bill!

You better contact the electricity company as they are more likely to switch your supply off without warning. I know from experience that the can accidentally withdraw money from other peoples accounts due to mistakes in direct debit numbers and it's only when these payments are cancelled that you could find you have been cut off.

I had been previously paying someone elses connection fees and usage bills and when I cancelled the payments they disconnected the user without warning.

Hi Theresa

Have you ever been charged  a connection fee from your Spanish bank account  I think ours was 168.00 euros if you have they should have your details on there system  I would ring them on the information below which were posted by Phil (Ptan) on the Condado forum.You don't want them the cut you off  as they will charge you the connection fee and it can take a while to sort out.

Call Iberdrola on +(34) 901202020, when you get through select option 1, then again option 1 at the next menu.

Did you ever get charged a connection fee?  If not they have probably cancelled your contract for some reason

When you get an answer, in your best Spanish ask for "new contracts",  "Los nuevos contratos, por favor"

when you get through to them, ask for an english speaking assisitant "  ¿Habla Inglés?.  There's a nice lady called Marisol and also a young man there who speak very good english.  Try around 10 in the morning, seems to be the best time.

Thanks for your assistance Graham and Steve.

It turns out that our electric had been cut off, the outstanding bill wasn't horrendous and they only charge a 25euro connection fee and they have already connected us again. Very good service i thought.
