Dream Little Property in the Sun

Dear All

We often check into this forum for latest news from Condado and some news and information which is often interesting and helpful.  We have a lovely apartment in Los Naranjos which we have spent time and money on like everyone else and it is our little escape to the sun whenever we can get over.  We love it, and yes we would love more facilities so we could spend more time on site and less time driving out of Condado to seek out places to eat and places of interest.  It is therefore such a shame that people cannot express their opinion and at the same time hear other people's opinions without getting a nasty head on.  The forum is for support, guidance, a bit of craic and a catch up with friends and neighbours. News of Paramount's plans is always interesting, and who knows how it will affect Cdo - we will have to wait and see whether it has a positive or negative affect on all of us but let's be optimistic and hope that we get no teams of builders taking up residence in our gardens and causing problems for us.  I think I would have concerns myself about that with regard to the security and safety of our belongings which are left outside.  And I would not wish to have lorry loads of workers in situ around my apartment for long periods of time and using the pool etc.  However, why worry about things that may never happen?   Let's all be positive, enjoy our little paradise in the sun and make the most of what we have.  Isn't it much more relaxing than griping and causing offence to others which only makes this forum seem childish and a waste of time and more people will not tune in if it becomes offensive.

Excuse me if i take this personal as i myself am a builder

I have been in the building trade all my working life and have managed to earn a great living able to afford two properties in Spain (Condado) and a couple more back in the UK. (honest hard graft)

Like singling out those of different religions you need to be careful how you express your opinions these days believe it or not all builders are not rough cowboys out to damage or steel when ever they can. And if those who have apartments in Spain want to rent to builders i am sure that 9 out of 10 will respect their neighbousrs just the same as any other walk of life.

So if your a builder in Spain watch out as your tagged as undesireable to rent a place on the (to posh for builders Condado de alhama)as you are potential robbers and undesirable to live anywhere other than a cave.

All be on your guard as i will be visiting Condado de Alhama several times this year so lock up your furniture and your women.

I wonder how Roadster earns their crust as not only builders are not welcome neither are "workers"

In my last words on the Paramount/rental subject I had to comment here.

I too like my apartment I like CdA and see it has potential once the finacial world gets itself sorted.

In relation to renting out an apartment I can see no problem in renting to builders or anyone else. My comments on another thread related to renting to groups of people for extended periods and the fact that in those circumstance the apartment, villa or whatever is not their home and naturally is not treated as such. I said most of these groups would not use the facilites on CdA and therefore wouldnt prompt improvements to those by PW. I said they'd eat, sleep and have a few beers thats all. I made a point of saying I was not being discrimnatory or stereo typical of any group. It is true however, that long use of a property is likely to cause wear and tear and it is therefore better to store any particulalry personally valuable items if you are considering this sort of rental.

I also think that most owners purchased with a holiday clientel in mind and saw CdA develop as a holiday location and resort not a general urbanisation. The impact of who rents the properties can affect how the developement is viewed.

Until the build actually happens none of this is relevant anyway.

I agree with most comments here, I don't judge people by their occupation and agree with Foser, that not all builder will attempt to steal your car, TV and wife. Although the last time a builder was at my house, my tea bag collection appeared depleated! (only joking!)

I also agree with Tony that this will probably never happen, as I have stated the chances of a clubhouse, Paramount or any facilities in the next 5 years are slim, in my view.

However if the builders do move in, I imagine that they WILL use the facilities. Remeber we only have 2 facilities on our urbanisation, A supermarket and a Bar. 

These people have to eat, so they will probably use the supermarket and if I was suck on an urbanisation and sharing a place away from home with a group of guys. I would probably spend many nights in the bar, to ease the boredom. So I think that an influx of tradesmen would significantly boost trade in Al Katraz.
