Hi,
From a grim place in February undecided whether to pursue legal action, we now have a beautiful apartment at Corvera that even has people keen to rent because of the free golf! We swapped our apartment thanks to Corvera's accommodating approach and now we just have the most gorgeous place, we never want to leave. Everyone at Corvera is so friendly, we just came back from 11 days there and had a social gatherings almost every day with several other owners. I think there';s a really positive spirit so that people get together despite their not being a clubhouse yet, though we understand Spikes Bar is coming soon.
Our thanks go to Roy Howitt from Inspectahome Spain who provided a comprehensive snagging service. We are grateful for his diligence and persistence, identifying many things we would never have done ourselves. For example Roy has a leak detecting gadget and spotted a gas leak we couldn't even smell, we've since installed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors after this. Working with Roy and the developers team we now have a quality home to be proud of. It can be quite daunting that first day you look in your apartment and it doesn't appear to be finsihed to the same standard as the UK. But after tiles relaid, electrics modified, painting, new rubber seals, threshold strip laid etc etc it's now looking super, thanks to Roy and the Corvera '60 minute makeover ' team. We think you get out what you put into the snagging process. it's taken time and money but it was well worth it.
We are indebted to Moira of Superior Interiors who 'project managed' our furniture and fittings, to the point that we arrived to a fridge full of food and toothpaste in the bathroom! We knew from fitting out our Uk holiday let how long it takes to furnsih an apartment, even knowing the sources. So we happily engaged Moira who just took all the pain out of it, not only by arranging for all the furniture and curtains, but she worked with Mick to fit shelves, move lights, install TVs hang mirrors and more. We wanted to achieve an eclectic look with some nice pieces mixed up with some cheaper items. The apartment now looks just gorgeous and whilst we could probably have done it a little cheaper, we wanted individual wow factors. What we have is good value and we have furniture that is robust , stylish and will last with some 'wow' factor. Our first renters just phoned because they were so delighted with the apartment; better than anything else they'd stayed in! Moira was well worth every penny as she worked relentlessly to find items that more than met my demanding needs and even took me shopping for soft furnishings to some really classy but very reasonably priced shops. If we hadn't used Moira we wouldn't be anywhere near ready to letting now.
Corvera is really shaping up and the airport's coming along well. There's so much investment in the surrounding areas and Corvera town are now realising there is business to be had from us Brits and are welcoming us in. there are about 9 or 10 restaurants and bars we've found locally now, its real fun trying them. We were pleased with our independent valuation and we seriously believe now that our investment is a good one and that we'll be very happy to sell in 10 years for a handsome sum. Meanwhile we can't wait to be back there.
