It would appear that as of the 13th of September, Peinsa are ceasing the supply of water to Phases 1, 2 & 3. Owners are responsible for applying to Galasa for their own water supply. Although it is normally necessary for property owners to be in possession of their final "Certificate of First Occupation" (CoFO)  to do this, (impossible as none have been granted) this is why Peinsa have been supplying us with Water & Electric thus far. It now appears that the Junta de Andalusia haver issued a waiver that allows Galasa to supply water without the final CoFO. If you haven't heard from Patricia from the office or your solicitor it might be worth a telephone call. I will be visiting my solicitor tomorrow as my paperwork has been sent to her. Hopefully I will know more then.

I have received a letter from our solicitor saying:

We inform you that “Galasa” fees to fit the meter and register you as supply holders amounts to approx. € 220,00.

I'd rather they didn't fit a meter and register us but all good things come to an end. Does anyone have Patricia's tel no, we're not going out until October.

Best wishes everybody!

Hi,

220 euros? from what I can see in the box outside it is a 5 minute job to disconnect the temp supply and fit a meter - must be a lot of admin work............

Patricia is on holiday till 20th september - The site office number is 0034 950 466 257.

We have been here 3 weeks now ( Big thanks to Mick and Pam for letting us stay for a holiday in there house untill ours is finished ) and bumped into Patricia while delivering leaflets about the water supply. It only affects certain properties for now as Bernado states below. While on utilities, I was talking to a Belgian guy who seemed quite knowledgeable about what was happening in Terreros - he said water was not a problem, but electricity is- with all the new properties, the supply is not adequate, so a new cable supply has to be laid from Pulpi to boost supply. So maybe we might get a while on the free elec yet, :) Altho the generator supply on CDP keeps tripping out, but thats another story..... Cannot have it good all the time.....

In the time we have been here, big progress has been made on the pavements and curbs on the remaining still closed off phases. Patricia informed us the roads and street lighting are the only outstanding items to finalise before the last phases are to be opened up. With our house finished in december............. this year we hope :))

Best wishes from a hot and sunny San Juan,

Ray n Ann

I have been reading the posts on here regarding services and how a lot of people seem to think it is OK to be on builders services and not be paying their own bills! The down side to this is:

The Junta may give dispensation to provide water to home owners and it may be possible to obtain electric from the appropiate providers, which is OK for now, BUT, should the time come when you wish to sell your property -  any buyers will be advised to have ALL the relevent legal paperwork in order to proceed. So, I would suggest as always is to get this paperwork BEFORE you complete otherwise it could be years before anyone is in a position to sell their properies on!

hope to go over end of october , whats the procedure for switching over your water supply ,do you need to book a date so you can be there to let them do it , do you pay first or when its done etc, as a side point have been getting emails regarding persons wanting to rent my apartment , its a stupid scam but i thought i would have a bit of a laugh , they asked were it was and a description so i told them it was a 10 bed penthouse apartment in crossmaglen co armagh next to the chinnese embassey and the rent is £4000 per month , they came back to and are taking it paying me £15000 less expenses , thats christmas sorted.  On the car issue since you all seem to be good friends why dont you form a car pool with the owner charging rent for the car to people you know and trust , no doubt there is an obvious reason why it wouldnt work , DISCUSS  ,
