Please refer to posts under Updated photo's.

Thought I would start this new thread to draw attention to the problem for all to see.

Still waiting from PW to come back with an offer.

My contract stated completion Dec 06 but had a leeway of 8 months. I am no seeking legal council to see if PW will release my contract early given that I doubt 3 blocks will be completed by this time. I have circa 72k tied up with them for 18 months and this is costing 3k a year in lost opportunity costs of funding.

Yet another summer gone without our ideal place in the sun. I think we should all pess them for refunds. I was offerred La Torre or another phase - if I had wanted to be there I would have chosen this in the first place.

If it gets messy I will go public in the Sunday press to warn others to stay away from Polaris World.

I too spoke to Polaris today and they confirmed the problems. They have, however, just phoned me back to say that a solution to the problem has been found and that work will recommence soon, wait for it, hold your horses there guys and galls, it is estimated that it will take another 12 months to complete the missing blocks.

I had previously spoken to Parador, who initially denied that we had even purchased on Hacienda, they know nothing of the problem, no surprise there, and as yet have failed to phone back.

Weeman, Cillantro, Anybody fancy a timeshare on a tent?

Mike

Polaris contacted me today , offered to transfer to another plot on HR at the price it would have been when contract signed, however with only 5% left unsold agreed that finding one suitable would be difficult.

When pressed for a completion date  said could be 5- 6 months but  then  said hopefully by the end of the year. I then asked again why or when did Polaris have the intention of contacting us with this problem?? again no reply, sorry not good enough.

Spokesperson said that PW was a very large organisation and that basically this was a small problem!!  well not to us!

Anyone else heard from P W ?? keep us posted.

Also speaking to Polaris but I'm lead to believe that completion is more like a year away. I think given the way things are going this would be more realistic.

If anyone is renting at least by the time they complete the rest of the resort should be up and running.

Polaris phoned me today to confirm Missing Appts. They offered me three options.

1.Another appt on La Torre (same price as original contract)

2.Another Appt on HR (same price as original contract no mention that only 5% Appts left)

3. Money back (original sum only /no interest payment)

They were of the opinion that it could be another 12 months before the missing Appts would be completed .I am going to Spain end of Feb where I will talk to my solicitor .Not sure what I can do.Would like my money back plus interest but that does not seem to be an option, have to get solicitor to check contract.

Thanks for the upadate.

It is my opinion that not everyone has the same contract. My Solicitor got funds back for friends as their contract clearly stated a completion date. Still in negotiation with mine.

Have had several conversations with PW and have threatened to contact the Sunday press (this is legit not an idol threat)- I didn't think this kind of customer neglect existed with PW - too much time producing fancy mags about themselves and dreams rather than proper comunication to the people like ourselves that have funded the project.

To be realistic I feel that if you can get your money back be gratefull claiming compensation could cost big time- take your money and run to somewhere else thats built  !!

We purchased an apartment in Phase 2  overlooking the 11th fairway.  Due to problems with the sale of our UK property I have not checked this sight for a while.  Concerned regarding the "Phase 2 Missing apartments" .  Would some care to fill me in/

Don't expect anything much from PW. We visited last week to try and resolve. We've swapped to an apartment on La Torre but had to pay extra for a smaller apartment. They claim the prices are based on similar valuations to when we bought in 2004, but no recompense for any delays etc. Our benefit is an apartment that will be ready in a couple of weeks rather than 12 months.

The delay is not underground cables but a set of powerlines that run across the resort. These need to be re-routed before building can commence.

Weeman/Cillantro, how did you get on?

Went past over Easter, the offending cables seem to have been re-routed, they now go into the ground but I couldn't tell where the channel went after more than a few yards. The area around the missing blocks now has screening around it, rather like an area on Mar Menor. Building work seems to be going on at a fair rate. Will post a photo of the pylon later if it looks OK, the weather was attrocious so the photo may not be too good.

Thanks for the update.

Well my news is not so good. Under my contract completion date was Dec 06 with a leway of 8 months taking us to August 07.

Polaris world Customer Services emailed and agreed to cancel our contract and we returned the guarantees, received a cancellation document which we signed and returned. A simple process but one that has taken 3 months only to be told that PW legal dept advise they are not in breach of contract until August. IN SHORT THEY WANT MY MONEY FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE.

It will be interesting if the Spanish can complete our apartment block in 4 months !!!

PW are a typical large conglomerate who are quick to take your money and have not a clue about custmer service. We should go public and advise prospective custmers not to sign up to an agreement where you pay up to 40% on a time line dictated by the builder.

Will keep you advised.

Regards a very pissed off Weeman !!!!

Hi everybody,

Last weekend me and my husband secured an apartment on phase 2 (Mejorana 4), reading this forum has instilled alittle worry. Can anybody tell us which ones are the missing blocks before we have to make our first instalment.

Our rep mentioned that this phase is looking to complete Jan-March 2008 would this be right, also is anybody aware of the communal fees yet?

Thankyou Sammy

Hi Sammy

Hate to say this but it sounds a bit dodgy. Phase 2 should have been ready last December, so a phase 2 ready Jan/Mar 2008 sounds like it's one of the missing blocks, and thats the new completion date. Good news is that we were there over Easter and the overhead power lines that were the problem have been re-routed. If you have a site plan the missing blocks were the 3 right hand blocks looking from the old road that runs down the side of the site. Another positive is that you will complete at a time when the site is less of a building site. The photo's I took were poor so didn't post. (The old road was a river on the day we went)

We're looking into transfering out of the missing blocks, have been told a possible of 12 - 18 months from start of build. Your agent should be able to help you identify the block  and check your contract carefully for completion dates. Despite all the problems that some of us have had I still believe that H R will be the destination for true golfers and the low density build speaks for itself when you look and compare the ariel shots against La Torre for example..

I agree, we bought 2 on HR,  still have one on phase 6, so we still have an interest in HR.

We transferred on to La Torre, only because we wanted to see something for our money. If you think the missing blocks on HR are a problem, we also bought on Almanzora CC. Thanks Parador, (see other links re Parador & ACC) ACC should have been ready June 2006, still haven't got the correct building licences

HI All,

I am buying on HR phase 2, are there any updates on the supposed completion date?

Has anybody been offered a full refund?

Does anybody have any info on how much the community charge will be, and how much the maintenance charges are ect, ect? (2 bed, 1 bath apartment)

I have resulted in this kind of communication to find out info as PW don’t even know what’s going on!

Any info is much appreciated!

Many Thanks – Fellow neighbour - HR

Sean.

Just uploaded the latest pics of the apartments.

PW are refusing to return my funds as they say they are not in breach of their contract until the end of August. Do they really think they can build and fit out in 3 months. PW customer service is a joke !! I work in sales and if I treated my clients like this I would have no business left. Has anyone any idea how we could get this story into the paper so was we can shame PW and expose what they really are.
