Has any one got the details of the company who provide the sliding windows to enclose utility areas ?----this feature is beginning to appear on some apartments and would cut down the dust getting into that room.Phase 2 PS seem to have several apartments done but no reply forthcoming!

One supplier for the glass curtains is situated on the Antas Industrial Estate. They are called LifeStyle Enclosures and their telephone number is:950 459 060. Their web-site is: www.lifestyle-enclosures.com

I haven't had these fitted so I can't recommend from personal experience.

Do you mean the utility room as featured in the duplex or is it the covered patio area at the front of the apartments?

If you mean the "glass curtains" as supplied by and installed by Lifestyle Enclosures (see Noreen's post for contact details), then I can thoroughly recommend them as I had them installed over two years ago and they have proved an absolute Godsend.

The companies "after-sales" service is second to none, and their staff are both helpful and informative. Ask for Brian when you call them as he is the owner of the company and a really nice person to deal with....no "hard-sell", just good, honest advice and service.

Regards,

Lorraine Braid.

Hello JHW

Just a word of warning

The outdoor air con unit is fitted in the utility room, this is the incorrect location for the unit from day one due to inadequate ventilation in and out of the small window hence in cooling mode the compressor overheats, the owners do not know this unless they attach a lap top computer and read the information on the screen, also the output temperatures of the indoor units are not low enough to keep the rooms at the correct temperatures.

In the heating mode the system goes to defrost mode more often than it should so the heating from the indoor unit stops when unnecessary.  Also when the system is heating the heat output of the indoor units is lower than should be to keep the rooms warm enough.

So putting the windows in will make this even worse and cause reduction to the life of the compressor and inverter system. There also have been cases of the inverter systems catching fire or exploding.

If you really have to put in the windows make sure you can lift the glass panels out for when you run the air con as most of the ones on your site have been fitted too tight to lift out.

all the best

Marucs  ACS
