WiFi on or Near Condado

Hello Everyone,

I know this subject has probably been touched upon before, but I am coming to Condado tomorrow and need internet access, is there WiFi in Condado, I believe the surgery has it, anyone know what this costs?

Is it available for free at Camposol?

Manzana Bar, nicknamed "The Surgery", at Condado is equipped with WiFi. Just bring you PC/mac. When connecting to the network and internet, you will be redirected to a login page where you enter username and password. This can be obtained from the bar. You buy AeraNet cards with the login details. 12 euros for 4 hours, if I remember correctly.

Its free at camposol - kennell's and the steakhouse both have it but are password protected.  Just order a drink or coffee and ask at the bar for the password .  I saved the password and used the free wifi several times over my last visits for my phone internet connection.

who could put preasure on for the wi fi to be available in the apartments

this would bring buisness people to the resort who otherwise will not come due to this basic missing.

anyone know what is happening with the phones in apartments?

various phone line options are available right now. However, unlike the other PW sites, if you want a line for incoming external calls only, plus on-site calls, PW want a monthly line rental off us  

Friends of ours, who completed on Hacienda after us, have just had their phone & line installed, they now have a landline number that people from the UK can call them on for little or no cost, and with no line rental for the owneres to pay. Don't know why things are different for us at Condado.

aparently wifi was attempted last year but no result , we have had wireless companies in like Telitec but no result Mel is trying to get wireless technology in. I can only suggest you chip in for 1 apartment to get a wireless modem in and share installation cost and then buy area net card when you come over

How much does it cost to get your apartment fixed with a wireless modem.  Any info appreciaterd.

Hi MG,

Off the top of my head it costs around 60E for internet access in the apartments and an extra 60E for Wi Fi, we also had the TV package done at the same time so total cost was 373E.

If you are an owner but not a permanent resident and you want wifi the router is approx €160 and the cards are about €12 for 4 hours.

There are other cheaper options f you dont want wifi.

If you e mail customerservices@polarisworld.com they will tell you.

The technicians come to CDA on a tuesday and Thursday I understand.

There are other 3rd party options being looked at by a couple of contributors to this forum but I dont think options for phone/internet are available yet unlike the tv where there is an option.

I don't know if anyone else has had the same problem but I've recently tried to get this set up in my apartment - wifi modem plus using the AreaNet cards for "pay as you go" rather than a fixed contract but have been told by Customer Service that the AreaNet cards don't work in the apartments yet so this option isn't available (not sure if that's all apts or just certain areas).

Don't think I'll bother yet, as I don't want to pay a monthly fee when I'm only going to be there every so often.

Penny, I have had the same problem, paid for a modem and using the AreaNet cards, hasn't worked from the day they installed it, over 2 months ago, the answer I got was 'we don't know when it will fixed'
