Stoped Building

Hi all

Just to let you know that i heard a whisper that they have stopped building the Town Houses and Appartment's. How many years now do we have to look at an abandoned site. If i find out anymore information will keep you posted.

Went to the R'ber offices today (with Judy for translation). The first phase  is complete, that is the 4 portals that form the E shape next to the pool. The pool is awaiting the safety cert and will be completed.

The phase further up opposite the town houses is suspended until Sept but is due to resume then. The completion on this phase is 2010 in any case. There are still the odd workman coming and going and the offices of R,ber are both open.

Thanks for the update. Any news is good news seeing as we never hear directly from Romanber. Do you know the latest estimate on completion date for the E-shape? It started as April this year, but I think the latest I heard was September.

R'ber mentioned early september as they say it is practically all done.We took a stroll around it and it looks fairly complete to the amateur eye.Some plants are in place in parts etc but can't say for certain about the inside of all the properties as squinting through the bars is not conclusive

i dont  think anyone needs to panic over the builders stoping, this happend when we where completing on phase one in 2007.it is usual for them to take there hollidays at this time of the year ,the weather is to hot for working ,if i remember everything usualy goes back to normal at the begining of september ,oh and thanks for the info about the pool , please if any one as pics please upload

Happy go lucky, are you able to explain how the process worked on completion - how much notice did Romanber give, how smoothly the process worked for handing over utilities etc.

The process on completion was fairly straight forward. R'ber/sunset contacted our solr to say all docs were in place and the final amount was due. The solr confirmed this.We gave him power to complete on our behalf but could have travelled if we wished. Once he confirmed that all was signed and in order he told us we could pick our keys at R'ber office in town which we did.

We asked a friend with Spanish and local knowledge to phone the utilities for us and they sorted out the connections smoothly. we setup some DD's at bank to cover this etc.

We also had a landline and WiFI internet put in by Telefonica, the guy turned up on the dot at the arranged time and sorted it out for us no hitches.

so process is reasonably ok

Thanks for all the helpful information, Inis. We are currently in our apartment and are very frustrated to see the pool laying unfinished outside!  It was especially frustrating to see them put some water in it and then stop!  I realise there are safety checks to make and the tiles around the edge need to be complete but do you really think Ro´'ber intend to complete the swimming pool and have it up and working this summer?  Also can you tell us the best way of going about setting up satelite tv and the costs involved.  Many thanks.  Maybe we will bump into you we are around for next two weeks in Block 2 phase 1!

Yes, agree very frustrating looking at an unuseable pool. R'ber said they had applied for  the first licence, but there seems to be a succession of licences required. Of course in August most places are on shut down so it may be some time before all the licences are granted....

With regards to the satellite tv, yes we can help you to get this sorted. If you are around tomorrow evening about 7.30 we will call over to discuss.

hello everyone i am afraid completion was not that smooth for us after going to the notory 5 times,if it wasnt cars braking down ,builders holls, paper work not in place,and so on, but i will say this we were very glad in the end we had given lois mendes power of attornie, as far as utilities were concerned lois took care of this for us,we did then have the added advantage of having sunset then for theback up but sadly for some this was not the case and we felt so sorry for those that had not completed before there bankrupcy.
