I have succesfully downloaded the Santander Es app on to my UK IPhone. Apparently it is that the app and on-line banking that don’t like the UK phone number. I have an old iPhone, hopefully that I could put a Spanish SIM in, when I get back to Spain to buy one! It just seems incredible to me that the system can’t cope with a UK mobile, in this mobile phone age!

Has anyone had a problem with using their UK mobile for online banking with Santander Es?
I was fairly happy until recently to receive regular paper statements to my home address in the UK but this stopped earlier this year. I thought it was linked to Covid so when I enquired why at my local Santander branch they said that it was no longer possible to have these. They said I had to use the App/online banking only. We looked at downloading the App which I did but the process of logging in would not work - this was put down to my having a UK phone. They sent me away with a phone number to ring the Madrid office. This I have done who have referred me back to the local branch. Not only can I not visit them in person as I’m now back in the UK but I fear if I call them I will get the same response - it’s not possible because I don’t have a Spanish phone. I find it difficult to believe that this is really the sticking point. How do other people get on with Santander Es bank accounts, surely I’m not alone with this situation? Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

None of you have mentioned the best place to find tapas in Arcos, which, to be honest, I am a bit reluctant to reveal! This is because at the best of times it is difficult to get a table. But last time we were there at the beginning of June, they had put some tables outside (which isnt easy where they are located). We have leanred that lunchtimes are good to get a table and early evening (8.30 ish before the really busy period around 9 - 10pm). This is La Carcel which is just beyond Zindicato (I like the tapas here but La Carcel is even better), you carry on up the hill toward the Parador and it is on the left barely 50m beyond Zindicato. Try it and let me know what you think. My favourite is the aubergine and goat's cheese sprinkled with honey!

Hi all,
Has anyone had a surprise demand re storage and parking in connection with a phase 1 apartment? We have just received, from Luis Mendez, notification that we now have to pay for completion on our parking and storage - this means IVA, notary fees etc. And comes to a considerable amount. We thought this had all happened when we completed 4 years ago. However, apparently because the storage and parking allocated to us came into the phase 2 part of the underground parking area completion had taken place because it wasn´t ready.
Has anyone else had a similar surprise demand?
Regards
Bridspain
