We've just got back after a week at Condado.  A few things that spring to mind ....

GoldCar at San Javier - oh dear, the queues just seem to get worse and worse. We used Auriga as usual, no problems whatsoever. I don't know if they just don't have enough serving at the Goldcar desk, or if they're so cheap most people are drwan to them.

Security - when we arrived the barriers were up and we sailed through unchallenged . Mind you, this was also the case when we called in at the Mar Menor resort for a bit of shopping having just landed. A bit slack don't  you think.

The Foro - managed to sneak in at the beginning and end of our trip. Met Alison & Simon, plus daughter, in there. By the end, the Supermarket was fairly well stocked with non-perishables. It's a decent size, probably a bit bigger than the one at La Torre. Take a 1 Euro coin if you need a trolley as they are all chained together. By the 11th, all the furniture was in the Clover, but it was still absolutley filthy with dust - it is going to take a big effort to get it clean in time.

Also bumped into Dringman while we were there, he didn't offer to shake hands as his hand had just been down a toilet - we didn't ask for further details !

The Surgery was packed every night outside, but we didn't use it ourselves. Happy Herbert had his hands full.

Apart from the Friday, our garden's pool was very busy. The new 'Pool Rules' sign was being ignored, particularly the bit about 'no inflatables', not that we care about that sort of thing.

There were lots of green bits over on the golf course - we have no interest in golf whatsoever so won't comment on whether things are progressing well or not !

Drove to Aguilas, which was a 55 minute drive from 'door to beach' on the non-motorway route. Beach area seemed a lot nicer than Puerto Mazarron in our opinion. But then again so does Los Alcazares, which is probably 10 minutes closer than Aguilas. Have a soft spot for Los Alcazares, love the beach and love the town.

That's all for now - if anything else springs to mind we'll let you know !

Chris & Alison

We visited Los Aguilas during our last visit and really liked it- though it didnt take us 55 mins. We have to say- though- last Sunday when aiming for the market we got distracted and ended up strolling down the promenade at Puerto Mazarron and it was really nice and holidayish. The beach was very busy- loads and loads of families with bright brollies and so on, we were out quite early so they mjust have picked their speck as the sun was rising!!!. And they just kept coming from the side streets- we had to dodge then along the promenade! So I began to like P. Mazarron more than I had done off season as it took on more of a holiday atmosphere. Never got to the market ( or the surgery for that matter)

We flew into Alicante again as we are finding Easyjet more economical at the moment- and they do their 'priority boar'ding' much better. Used 'Recordcarhire'- and despite being given a car without aircon (which we had to exchange 3 days on as Nanna was weather beaten in the back seat!) they were efficient( and apologetic about the aircon).
