Property Tax

Hi,

Just read on Condado site something about a foreign property tax (sorry, don't know much about this!) called IBI?

A lot of people have got letters to apartments, and it has to be paid by a certain date or be fined. Anyone know what I am on about? What if you are living in another country and won't be out on holiday to pay? Thought they'd send stuff like this to actual owner's home address.

we arrived this week and our tax bills were in our post box. We plan to sort things during our visit, you can use your solicitor to do fiscal representation for you or take them to the Bank and later to the Town Hall your self. I understand the fine for late payment is minimal

We had the bills in our letter box when we visited on 20/06/09. We met someone at the resort who advised that all we needed to do was to go and pay it at the CAM (Caja Mediterraneo) Bank at Camposol, or one of the others as stated on the letter. You can pay cash or from account. We paid cash, took the letter along with us and passports just in case. Cashier spoke English, so no problems there. Receipt stamped and returned. simple as that. Best go between 10am and 11am apparently. I think you can set up a direct debit as well, but I think next year that we will do this as its so simple.
