Payment for utilities

Hello everyone,

I noticed that yesterday the sum of almost 200 euros was taken from my bank account stating "Factura" and then giving a long number.

The only company with direct debit facility on my account is Polaris World. I just wondered whether they had started charging for water and electricity, either for the initial connection or usage. I completed on Jardine 13 last July.

Has anyone else has had money withdrawn in a similar fashion in the last few days?

On completion we were told by our solicitors that both the water and electricity companies would charge approx 200 euros each or connection when it happened. sounds like it could be this.

I think that is the most likely explanation. However, I though some information would be given prior to the money being withdrawn. Has anyone else on the Jardines had a similar sum withdrawn from their accounts?

The money for the connection of the utilities just appears on the bank statement , it was only that our bank at Mazzarron (Halifax) phoning us to let us know the direct debits had been set up for the utilities(must say the bank have been excellent ). you do not seem to get any notification,well we did not.

The amounts for the connections was Water - 196.55 and electric 150.25, we are also paying a direct debit  of 10.55 every 2 months for the standing charge for the water, not to sure what has happened with the electric standing charge, but I am sure that will follow shortly.

Thank you so much for your helpful advice. The amount taken from my account was exactly 195.55 euros. Therefore the money taken was clearly for the water connection.

Had you not replied I would have worried about the matter. Now I can put the matter to rest.
