Has anyone started looking into Furniture packs for thier Corvera properties? Either from Corvera or elsewhere?

I understand that if we plan to rent out our property with Corvera, we have to buy their furniture packages, has anyone else picked up on this?

Hi Carrington, that's right.  If you want to rent through Devere you have to purchase their furniture pack.  I've been told that they are expensive and not that great quality - can't comment as I've not seen one.  We purchased our furniture through Villapac three years ago.  We put down £500 deposit and the price kept the same.  We have been able to tweak the order though.  Villapac do everything for you, when able, they go into the property and draw up a plan - the interior designers place the furniture where they think it should be.  You are then given a copy of the plan for you to approve.  They measure the windows and make the curtains, which are delivered and hung approximately six weeks later.  Pictures are hung and lights are fitted - fantastic!!

Hope this helps.

Anita.

We have ordered our furniture from Murcia Funiture, they have a large warehouse close to Covera where your free to visit and see the quality of the packages. We have called a couple of times to the warehouse and only decided to secure our package on the last visit in Sept this year. They're really friendly and helpful, they will taylor the package to what you want, we have only purchased the essentials to get us up and running on completion as we wanted to do the finishing touches ourself. They have a good website where you can view the packages and add/remove items you don't want/want to include, this then reflects on the price which is displayed on screen. Use google to search for murcia furniture its the first item after the sponsored links

hi.

we bought on roda and purchased their furniture.

it is true that if you want to rent through them then you need to use their furniture.

it probably is more epensive to be honest but it does include everything and it does save time and hassle as they do everything for you.

the quality is good and the colours are neutral, but that is what you want if you are letting anyway as what is our tste might not be a renters taste, but with calidonas pack designed by people in the business then it should suit most tastes.

you can see piscs of our furniture on the gallery of website below ;-)

Calidona is the developer from Corvera. They are developers. They construct. Their main business is not services, furniture, rentals etc. You see a lot of big developers who want to do eveything and it never works.

Before they  force you to buy their packages. Let them show you what they have done over the last two years what kind of occupacion level do they generate for the clients on Roda Golf. Only then you can see if it,s worth it for you.

Just to update you, I had an e-mail from corvera last week saying a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment furniture pack would be around €15,000, which seems ridiculous.

The last quote I had from Villapac, which seemed way over the top anyway was around €8000!

If this is the case I will be furnishing the apartment myself in Spain and renting out privately and with Owners Direct!

I'd be interested if anyone else had any info from Corvera on Furniture Packs yet.

Hi Carrington, we purchased our furniture pack through Villapac four years ago.  They are quite expensive, but we really wanted some quality, hardwaring, yet stylish furniture - didn't want much did we.  Anyway, we got what we wanted and are happy.  It is also an easy service.  Let them know when they can gain access to your property, they will measure the windows, do a clean, give you a plan of where your furniture is best suited based on an initial visit, deliver and install the furniture, hang pictures, supply and connect lighting etc. and return with curtains/voiles in a matter of approximately six weeks after taking measurements.  I know plenty of people on other developments have sourced their furniture from shops locally and have had some good bargains, so really it is 'horses for courses'.

Good luck, anyway.

Regards, Anita.

Apparently Villapac no longer install furniture to their cut costs, they recommend people in Spain to do it but no longer include this in their package.

They also charge you £10 per week storage fee from when you place your order until it is delivered, which, as you can imagine the situation we are in not knowing dates etc, could add more cost we just don't need.

What's wrong with Ikea?

On Line and just the other side of Murcia.

Nothing wrong with Ikea for accessories but be careful regarding furniture especially seating. If you are renting out your property you will need public Liabilty insurance and some insurance wont insure properties furnished with KIT furniture and others wont pay out if the accident involved kit furniture.

Also there are a  number of rental companies that wont take on houses furnshed with such furniture due to potential liabilty etc.

You should also have a good look at the structure and the leather in the sofas. Partical board is chipboard and the shinny leathers they show are Bi-cast which is not real leather (it is now illegal in New Zealand to call BI-cast LEATHER) or have a very thick POLYMER layer due to the thinness of the leather.

Be careful

we paid around 15k for calidonas furniture pack 2 years ago so if its stil the same price i would think it was reasonable.

we also bught the solarium furniture and have priced it elsewhere and it is expensive with the loungers coming in at round 250 euros each.

the colours are neutral and good for letting.

you can see pics on website below.

Looks like our good deal with Villapac has gone out of the window going by this thread.  http://www.eyeonspain.com/forums/posts-long-5771.aspx.   Anyone recommend a good furniture supplier.

Anita.

Hi Anita,

You could try  this department store in Murcia Corte Ingles Murcia. They seem to be in most large towns, I think Barcelona has two!

It is very similar to John Lewis and has everything you would need even hot tubs.  We will definitely look here when we are ready to complete on phase 3.    Sorry I have not made enough posts to add link but website is viajeselcorteingles. with the usual 3 w's at the beginning and es at end.

Good luck with your completion.

Thank you Shudi for your post.  I will look at their website.  It would be really good to have a company that will deliver, install and make curtains etc.  That was what was so appealing about Villapac.

Kind regards, Anita.

Anita,

Try DFS Furniture in San Javier. only 15 minutes from Corvera. Cora is the contact on info@dfsspain.com

or there is a banner on the left of this page.

They can do everything, including curtains, bedding, housewares, showerscreens etc etc.

Because they are local you can easily control all aspects of the purchase. Cora can arrange everything.

Hairbear.

HI Anita

You should also try another local company for curtains - they are all handmade to whatever you want.  The company is called Mariposa Curtains and is run by a lovely lady called Margot.  This is her website:  //www.mariposacurtains.com.

Hope all is going well.

Sandra
