Certificate of Habitation for El Pinet

My neighbour went up to Elche Ayuntamiento and asked for his Cert of Hab ( so he could bring his new wife to Spain, immigration etc ). 30€ later, he had it. They are supposed to be free but so what !! He's gone away for a while so I don't know any more details. Bill

This is excellant news perhaps everyone should get theirs immediatley incase there is a change of heart.

Yes, this is still the case. We won't hear any more until December. I'll contact him then, as I am there early December myself.

About the Certificate, NOBODY has it in el Pinet. I am 100% SURE. I Will pay all night beers if any shows me one!

I got in touch with John, who returns from the far east in December. Here is his reply -

" I went to Elche council because immigration wanted certificate to prove house was habitable. Cost was €46 and took eight weeks to sort out, and you need someone who speaks good spanish. If San Jose only wants us to pay for water/electric until Dec, maybe they'll sign off anyway, that costs nothing."

Of course, I too would like to see the certificate, but John's word is good as far as I'm concerned. He has no need to mislead any of us. We are all in this together. If that proves to be the case, then ..................

It sounds like he may have been issued something to say that the condition of the house was  satisfactory  to  live  in.
To my knowledge habitation  license  is  only  issued  once  the  development  is  completely finished ie roads, lighting, shops, houses completed etc etc, the whole package which is great because if they were issued before we would never see El Pinet finished.
