Just got back from 10 days at Roda  -  what can I tell you ?
Golf course -  immaculate  - good twilight deals ,book in advance at club house ,  start at 5pm and course is pretty quiet then  -  get a buggy it is still HOT  !!
Beach club  -  well smart  !!   12 euro per person ( 8 for the ferry + 4 for the mini bus ),book at golf club house ,  takes 1hr45 mins door to door - very enjoyable trip - picks up from all parts of Roda, Evening meals not yet being served but will be after 17th july . last bus / ferry back will leave at 23.30. Good menu , similar to club house but everything approx 1-2 euro more
Club House - FAB  !!  Thursday to sunday inc are Jazz nights - would recommend reserving table for those nights for outside areas - good atmosphere - nice mixture of spanish ,irish and rest.
Los Narejos  -  few new bars and shops  -  try the terrace at the 525 hotel.
Overall Roda is looking great and we had a great time.  Can't wait to go back.

Thanks to everyone for info on beach club, going to Roda tomorrow and can't wait!  I'll take plenty of photos of beach club and upload when I get back, although I hopefully someone will have beaten me to it by then.

Spent all Sunday there and enjoyed it.  The food and drink was overpriced but ok. The changing rooms are immaculate.  Towels are available so no need to take your own.  I will warn you that very few of the bar staff speak English so be prepared to gesticulate a lot! Great place if you want to ´chill´.

It's great to hear the glowing reports on the Beach Club. Can't wait to get there in August!
Is it really taking 1hr 45mins door to door to get there from Roda? I'm not sure my kids could cope even if it is a pleasant trip. How long does the boat journey take if you don't use the bus on the Roda end?

The mini buses / coaches arrive approx 15 mins before the ferry leaves (going and coming back )
15 mins sat in the sun eating an ice cream , playing on the beach or having a beer is not exactly tough !!   Just chill .

Hi Ace, thanks for the link, the photos look great. We weren't sure of getting over until October, but we would like to see the club personally. Has anyone here eaten in the restaurant yet?

Just back from a wonderful holiday at Roda - we didn't want to leave!  We drove to the beach club,it is 55 km and took us 50 minutes, but the journey was straightforward enough.  Others who had gone via the bus/ferry  saw it as part of their day out and enjoyed the boat trip, although one person thought it was too much hassle so I suppose it's down to personal choice.  We spent a whole day there and loved it!

Hi,

We are still at Roda as i write this enjoying the fantastic weather.

Anyway back to the thread, we were over at the Beach Club yesterday and can confirm the driving tyime of 50mins is correct. This however could be 2hours on a Sat/ Sun during the peak season.

The food in the bar/ rest is excellent quality, we had a lovely chicken skewer/ fries  at 10 euro .

Generaly as other people have mentioned the prices are more expensive than the Casa Club with a small beer at 3 euro as an example.

Not mentioned is the theraputic mud which you will find in the Med next to the club. This you can rub allover and let it dry in the sun. This is good fun and certainly a bonus point. !!

We went to the Beach Club over the weekend and what a treat. Everything was first class and the 12 euro cost was so well worth it as we were picked up practically at the door of our apartment and deposited back there several hours later fed and watered and totally relaxed. The cost is worth every penny as we didn´t have to deal with any traffic (Spanish holidays have started in earnest and there are a lot of cars on the roads at the moment so La Manga Strip is getting very busy and particularly at weekends) and we both enjoyed a few glasses of wine washed down with some fine Scotch without a care in the world about driving home.
The boat trip was all part of the adventure and was really pleasant with a lovely breeze. I can thoroughly recommend the whole package and the relaxation area in the upstairs section of the Beach Club is perfect for a break from the sun during the afternoon for those of us who are a bit fair skinned.
The whole experience only confirms that we bought on the right development and at the right time!!

We went to try out the beach club on the 27th July, and sorry to say but  was a touch disappointed . The pool entrance was very slippery and my husband took a fall, found out later that others had reported the same. Lunch time had a meal at snack bar  but the food was not upto much, and the terrace was filthy considering this is supposed  to be of five star quality.Having looked at the plans in the sales office there are a few features still to be completed. Hope things inprove.

Hi all just back from 2 weeks in Roda the weather is Hot Hot Hot. I too am a little unsure about the Beach club we went by car the journey going was ok but journey back was not. Lots of traffic. I also thought the terrace was dirty lots of cigarette butts lying around. The biggest problem was that when we arrived there were no sunloungers available as they had all been taken. Though you may say, get there earlier and I would agree with you but , are you aware the the beach club is open to non Roda owners or guests? On arriving there we were given arm bands to show the we were from Roda. As I looked around at least half of said people using pool and loungers had no armband on. At one point a group of four got up and left via their dingy and on to a boat just off the coast. When I inquired at the desk I was told that non Roda where not permitted to use the pool sunloungers or the changing rooms. It would  seem that the staff are not policing this properly. I know that the beach club might need the extra income from non Roda but I feel that if not carefull we will be paying for something that lots of other people will have the benifit of. Perhaps a different pricing for food and drink might make this seem a better deal.

I have just been informed that ANYONE can use the Restaraunt and or Bar at any time.
Only Roda owners can use the Pool and first floor until 17-30 hours and after that ANYONE can go to the first floor.
Even if allowance is made for some discrepancies due to the language barrier, we are a long way away from, the exclusive use by Roda owners.
