Recently been contacted by my mortgage lender offering me a fixed rate for the balance of my mortgage providing I gave up any rights I have to make a claim for interest overcharging. I wrote back setting out how much they have overcharged since the Supreme Court ruling which was 5 figures and seeking a proper settlement. They have refused to respond. Although the Supreme Court ruling was made in 2013 outlawing the practice, the bank continued to charge the collar rate until 2016.

Has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone recommend how best to tackle the bank either directly or legally assuming others out there have experienced the same thing.

Thanks to everyone for their replies.

Like PAL I get paper bills for electric and water but none for gas. I don't ever remember changing my supplier but as was said at least the direct debit seem reasonable if not a bit irregular.

Mickyfinn, thank you for going to the trouble of explaining how to find a bill online. However I have never registered for online billing. Can you tell me how I go about it or the website address to use. I did some research last night but couldn't find the right website. Any help would again be greatly appreciated.

I haven't had a paper bill from HC Energia in the 6 years we have owned a property at Roda Golf. A direct debit was set up when we bought the property and we have been paying bills ever since. Can anyone tell me how I get bills either online or paper bills.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Viv,

I agree with Marvin on both counts. With a thatch type matting on the pergola, it provides great shading when you want a break from the hot sun.  One word of advice is to tell Roda where you want it located on the solarium.
