The truth is that the number of Spanish beaches where you can go with a dog is pretty poor. Especially when you compare it to the 450 beaches in the UK or the nearly 200 in France, and even more so when you consider that more and more people travel with dogs everyday and coastal tourism is one of the main economic engines of the country with over 2,200 kilometres of sandy beaches. But believe it or not you can only go with your dog to about 50 beaches in Spain, and some even with time restrictions. So it is even more important to know which beaches are dog friendly because the fines can be pretty hefty.
