What a bunch of arrogant and corrupt officials in these regions. Well done the EU for once. The sums are simply staggering. It's simply not acceptable for these regions to operate in this way. They should no get any EU money for the next 5 years and they might not be so keen to miss use EU money next time

MEP's such as Margret Auken, Marta Andreasen, Roger Helmer and others have been urging the EU for several years now to hold back funding from Spain and use the money to refund property buyers who have been defrauded by Spanish banks and developers. Yes its only right that Spain should be penalised for their corrupt dealerings, but the proceeds should not be swallowed up by the EU, but returned to those to whom it rightly belongs.

The Spanish will never be free from corruption, they can't help themselves, it's part of their DNA, has been for a thousand years.

That's true , the pikey DNA runs deep but the local officials are still elected by locals , we need more choice and an eye opening campaign on the back of this.

Wake up there at the back - all government officials are corrupt
in one way or another its just the gravity that is different, we don't need a certificate to work that out. Where ever there is money concerned you can bet there is a fiddle going on and its not until the bubble bursts that we say Wow,I can't believe it!
