And, unfortunately, he didn't hit the deck running in 'Skyfall'. I thought his acting at the beginning wasn't good, but it got better as the film progressed. Daniel Craig was, of course, fantastic.
Regarding the more serious point of his political allegiances, well it's just the usual politically correct stuff; you don't get many actors willing to 'come out' as right wing, although they probably make massive efforts to protect their wealth from the taxman.
