Record temperatures as east coast hits 37ºC

ROCKETING temperatures throughout the country have led to an amber warning being issued by the State meteorological agency, AEMET.

The provinces of Alicante and Valencia saw the mercury shoot up to 37ºC in the shade today, and not dropping below 30ºC until after sunset.

Excessive humidity could lead to tidal waves in Almería and Granada and thunder and lightning across the northern coastline, Huesca, Lleida, Castilla y León and Extremadura.

We were in Molina, Murcia the other day, it was 39 inthe shade at 8pm. It feels more like July, August weather already, Phew!!!
not knocking it though, the Uk is flooded with rain and cold. Would still be here any day, even if it was in the 50's........

Thought i'd say about heat stroke. Keep out of the sun at midday,also around 5'ish.Can become even hotter in the campo. Plenty of sun cream xfactor 40+. no beer,water instead,wear hat and sunglasses. Better still sit in a air con bar and enjoy your hols!!!

Wonderful week in Spain, August temperatures in early June. To come back to the UK to this constant rain - just awful. Can't understand why I chose to come home! what time is the next plane out of here ?
