The Snow is back...(but not as bad as it was a few weeks ago!)
Monday, February 22, 2010

The snow is back here where I live and it's not as deep as it was in early January, but it's thick and you could make a good snowball out of it! Hasn't been as much ice as I thought there would be but there has been plenty these past few weeks. I've caught myself a nasty cold too which I'm not very happy about. Hopefully things will get better!

I haven't posted any Spanish phrases lately, I hope to post some this week.

How was it?
Monday, February 15, 2010

I'm glad to hear some people had a great day on Valentine's Day. I didn't do much, just a lazy Sunday.

It was Chinese New Year on February 14th as I mentioned in the last post. I was watching on the news the celebrations in the city centre.

Were there many celebrations in Spain?

Zero Degrees and Paths Covered with Ice
Wednesday, February 10, 2010

This morning ice covered the paths and roads of the area where I live. The temperature today has changed from zero degrees to lower. At this very moment it is zero degrees and there's a chance it will rain tonight. Tomorrow we have a chance of snow and Friday and Saturday we have a chance of rain.

In Playa Flamenca the current temperature is eleven degrees and it's clear. It will be partly sunny in Playa Flamenca until Saturday where there is a chance of rain.

Google Earth
Wednesday, February 10, 2010

I recently downloaded Google Earth to my computer and I think it's amazing. You can look at places from above, zoom in, see buildings in 3D and so much more.

The image above shows the complex of my apartment in a 'bird's eye view'.

In this picture (above) you can see the whole of Spain.

When you start Google Earth it begins with the world and you can choose where you would like to go to simply by double clicking an area or typing in in the search box.

In the image above you can see a '360 View' or a 3D view of a museum in Orihuela.

Google Earth is a free software which can be downloaded from it's own webiste. It's easy to use and great to look at.

Very - Muy

Ejemplos:

Pablo es muy divertido - Pablo is very funny

Miguel es aburrido - Miguel is boring

Miguel es muy aburido - Miguel is very boring

More Spanish Phrases
Monday, February 8, 2010

In this post I will teach you how to ask someone where they live and tell someone where you live.

Where do you live? - ¿Dónde Vives? (don-day bee-behs)

OR

¿Dónde vive usted? (don-day bee-beh oo-sted)

I live in... - Vivo en ... (bee-boh en)

Post a comment telling me where you live. Start off with 'Vivo en...' and then put the place where you live.

Below Zero
Wednesday, February 3, 2010

Brrr.......... It was minus three degrees this morning here in the UK and it's zero degrees now and it's snowing. This morning it was only two degrees in Playa Flamenca, Costa Blanca! It's eleven degrees now and light rain.

Tomorrow in the UK it's expected to be cloudy. On Friday there's a chance of rain and on Saturday it's expected to be cloudy.

In Playa Flamenca there's a chance of rain on Thursday. Friday is expected to be mostly sunny and Saturday there's a chance of it being a clear day.

A range of different weathers in both places.
