For Spanish school   First  register with town hall, obtain NIE number from local police. You will need to visit your local town hall to register the children for school, requirements may vary however, some things you will need.

Childrens passport, parents passport, childrens birth certificate, vacanation records, 2 photos, house deeds or rental contract. you will need original and copies of all these.

For private International Schools, not so much paper work.

Thanks!

So does it matter what time of year it is or is there a waiting list?

I think its usually done end Aug/early September however if you move here you will enrol when you arrive. Regarding waiting lists. it depends where you are. My neighbour in Elviria cannot get her 5 year old into school as they are full,

 Hi Louise,

We moved from Dumbarton in September  with our 10 year old.Yes we needed all that jayce said to present to the school. There was plenty of space in the local school. There is usually someone who speaks English unless you are in a remote area.

Everyone is so nice and the pressure of the Scottish system is off except for exams to move on to the next stage. The school gave us a list of books to buy 150 euros but as he is learning Spanish he does not follow the class work yet. They gave him a lower level Lengua book and also in Maths from which there is plenty of homework.

All the English speaking children repeat the same stage. He has an extra 6 sessions of Spanish out of the class in a group and enjoys going to the English class when the teacher asks him to read out and help.

Where are you moving to

Hope this helps.

Hasta luego
