I have a number of properties which i am looking to rent out on a long term rental basis.

I wondered what most people do with regards to the utility bill's.

Do you change the dd into the tenants name or do i have to chase them up every time i get charged?

Thanks

My advice would be to get the bill transferred in to the tenants name as we were new to all this and left the dd in our account but have not managed to get the tenat to pay any of the bills now totalling 550 euros!!!

It depends on the agreement in the contract. That is another reason by which it is highly advisable to have the contract submitted to arbitration instead of Courts. If dispute arised due to lack of payment of these small amounts, they will be also solved in days ( against months in Courts).

Best,

Maria
