Abusive bank guarantee - solicitor tells me to accept it!

Hi All,
We completed in August on a 2 bed appt in Jardines De Alhama with no problems but after reading on the forum about Bank Guarantees I asked my solicitor and she said it was too late to get one before completion. So my question is : Is the BG still necessary afterthe sale?

From the many experiences I know of it aint worth having one anyway if the Banks are allowed to ignore legal court rulings
