An elderly lady that we know, who has lived alone here in the Mazarron area for over six years has asked us to enquire about dying in Spain.
She has no living relatives in either Spain or England. She has no assets in Spain, apart from a few articles of furniture in her rented apartment. Her sole income is from pensions paid into an English Bank account and drawn out over here on a Bank card. She has very little in the way of savings in the UK and does not have a Bank account in Spain.
Her question of course now, is what happens when she dies?
Who needs to be advised and by whom? Who would deal with the funeral plans or cremation and costs?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
