INTERNET CONNECTION

We've had an internet box connected in our apartment so we don't have to keep going to the internet cafe and this is the first time we've used it. So we brought our lap top with us and I have to say it has proved to be very successful. I had my doubts that it was money well sent but it's as quick as they said it would be and well worth the money as we would never have bothered with a phone line. I haven't used it as much as I thought I would as the weather has been so good I've been out and about all the time but my husband has used it every day. Apart from the intial cost of the installation we pay 18 euros per week to activate when we are here.

Can you give any details? Is it a local thing or National?

And do you need telephone lines?

As Cioffi1 is in Calahonda, I suspect that they might be using VIP-HOTSPOT.

They currently offer a wireless service between Benalmadena and Marbella, which means you don't need a telephone line.

They are planning on extending the service in the near future.

Also, I don't think they have got as far as Manilva yet!

Mark - I'll dig out the information on it tomorrow. A lot of people have it around us as I keep seeing the little box with the red light flashing on the side of various terraces. We're situated in the elevated part of Calahonda and I keep thinking that if too many apartments have it installed there'll be so many little red lights up here that we'll be mistaken for Malaga runway!
The connection is equally as fast as our broadband at home.
