I have just got back from Malaga Airport and i had a bit of fun with some spanish ** EDITED - offensive-Against forum rules **

They are camping out in the airport with protest signs because Iberia airlines is set to lay off loads of staff.

The protest is about the hard working diligent english colonising the airline and forcing the lazy spanish ** EDITED - offensive-Against forum rules ** out of work.
of course the spanish arent so happy about this and want to hang us all.

** EDITED - offensive-Against forum rules **

How does it feel** EDITED - offensive-Against forum rules **?

Now this is a bit hard to understand, not from you Mungry, but by the way it's being set up.

The Airline wants to cut cost's, so it dumps staff. Something that is happening in every industry, large or small.

The English are to blame because they are using the Airline and forcing out the Spanish, and it seems taking their jobs.

So lets say the Spanish win, and the Brits don't use this Airline anymore, then the Airline is closed down, or shuts down flights.

Do the Brits, or holiday makers in general, then get the blame once again because they didn't use the Airline?

Quite simple as to whats happening, but so very hard to understand.

It's quite simple really.

Iberia and BA are both owned by IAG.  IAG want to save money by sacking Iberia staff.  It's not that BA staff are taking Spanish jobs.   BA have already made their redundancies.

They are about to sign a deal whereby a few hundred fewer Iberia staff will lose their jobs (3,141 instead of 3,800), and those remaining will get a 15% pay cut.

IAG are happy because this will save them €250 million a year.  The strikes cost them €3m a day (x 8 days = €24m).   Do the math.

i was explaining to my spanish wife about an american company the other day.

they were doing their best to keep their employees all employed and had to do a wage rise freeze for a while.

so the employyes got annoyed and went out on strike.

but because the company was doing its best to just make ends meet and not lose any emplyees and stay afloat

they just couldnt afford even a day or two of striking

so they closed and everyone was out of a job

i lolled at the dumb ass strikers and always do.
