Telefonica -cancelling a land line

Hi, can anyone tell me how easy or difficult it is to cancel a telefonica landline and adsl connection? I am fed up with extortionate phone bills and am looking at having a wireless connection without a phone line. Any advice would be much appreciated? Also would there be a charge for cancellation of the line?
