Hi, we are about to come on a viewing trip and are therefore doing research.  Can anybody let me know the best UK currency exchange company to use and the best local bank if we make a purchase, which I hope we will

Also, perhaps, an independent English speaking solicitor.

Hi David,

This all depends on your risk appetite and circumstances.

I use Deutsche Bank. They provide a full banking service (cards, onlne banking, atms, direct debits etc) at no charge as long as you transfer €600 per month into your account. Otherwise the charge €12 per quarter. They also have a free basic account where you pay extra for the services you require.

I use Transferwise to transfer my money. Best rates around. If you use this link to sign up, you will get a free transfer and I will get £50 for every three signups 

I'll second TransferWise,  been using them for a few years now without issues. 

Cajamar is my bank,  like others online,  cards. Ect but the do charge, I think it's about 25 euros a year. 

As for solicitors I definitely recommend fuster associates in Los alcazares,  exceptional service speak perfect English,  and the bonus is the notary offices are in the same building which makes the process smooth.
