Hi everyone,

I thought I had better let you know that there has been a small problem with expensive plants being stolen. We have had 3 nicked and I understand other people have suffererd losses aswell.

Ours were on the front/side patio area and they also took the pots, so it must have been planned as they were heavy!!

It`s really quite sad to think there are people like this in the area, but I suppose nowhere these days is exempt from low life.

On a brighter note we are all set up now (big thanks to Stuart & Denise) and cant wait to go over to San Juan again on 20th February, if anyone is over at the same time let me know and we`ll arrange a night out perhaps.

All the best,

Roger & Stella

Roger

We also had our plants stolen. We have now brought artificial ones which we take in every time we leave. They are quite expensive but may work out cheaper in the long run.

Hi Roger & Stella,

Stuart contacted us to say that our plants and pots had gone too, leaves a bit of a bad taste in the mouth doesn't it? Dont think we will bother to replace them, no point in throwing money away. We are very disappointed, coming from Liverpool, we are not strangers to theft, just didnt think it would happen there. Lynn

Lets just hope this is a `phase` and with a bit more security maybe whoever is doing it will move on, personally I too am not putting expensive plants on the front again, they left a couple of cheaper ones, bourganvlilia etc so maybe that`s the way to go.

On the security aspect I shall probably fit a couple of CCTV cameras and a DVR system which can be monitored/viewed remotely with an internet connection, but it is a real shame we have to consider these options,  the place is looking so nice now as people are adding their own personal touches.....I just hope this doesn`t put people off.

Cheers,

Roger & Stella

Agreed, it is such a shame to see furniture/plants being taken - whilst San Juan is lovely, you do keep getting those little reminders, to keep on your guard and remember all places no matter how nice and quiet they seem, do have problems of this nature.

We have on several occasions looked at buying some plants for the front terrace, but the plants and nice large pots can add up in money quiet a bit and we keep telling ourselves, it is a holiday home and not our main residency.

Agree it is such a shame when these events happen.  We are surprised the development does not have trees on the street, as these were a key feature in the courtyard development Peinsa did in Ronda.

Oh well, garden lovers, you still have the rear terrace and sun terraces!

Hey, if the robbers aren't interested in bougainvilla, let's cover the site in these beautiful flowers.  They must be easy to grow - ours have survived on our roof for a year now.  6 euros per 6 foot plant from the garden centre.
