Parking ticket

Beware. While stopping over the new year I got a parking ticket for parking on the wrong side of the road. Apparantly the side to park on changes periodically so only park on the side everybody else does???  Same side as Mar Y Sol

In the UK there's an often-ignored law that says you You MUST NOT park on a road at night facing against the direction of the traffic flow unless in a recognised parking space.
 

Could it be the same in Spain?

We nearly got one but were lucky as we were in manos and saw the police come. My husband went to check as he thought he was parked as in England. In spain they change what side of the road you can park by the date. From 1st to 15th of the month you can park on one side then they move the signs to the other side for the rest of the month.  But we were told they come every month to check and book the cars not parked correctly. Dont know the logic except to make money. We were lucky the police allowed us to move our car. So beware check the signs.

Were you maybe parked in a one way street, facing the wrong way , giving the impression you had driven up the one way street illegally ?  We are not sure exactly where you were parked, as there is the Mar y Sol above the supermarket and the one in the same street as the bungalows that face the cemetery and proposed sports field.
