The latest additions to the site are the following :

1- We have now added the possibility to "LIKE" a blog post.... If you dislike it just stop reading and read something else or leave a comment, but be polite at all times!  :-)

As many users do NOT use Facebook we have added our own functionality. So please, please make an effort to "click" on the LIKE button if you enjoyed the post, it really helps the bloggers and encourages them to write more. It will also help them identify what is enjoyed more by the readers. So if you appreciate the time and effort that the EOS BLOGGERS put into writing and above all value their content, please show them your support by "liking" their posts. We may use this information in conjunction with the "views" data and comments to establish a ranking of the most popular blogs on EOS in the very near future.

2 - The functionality of LIKES & DISLIKES has now been added to the Community forums as well.

Many of you have probably noticed this new functionality on the forums. Quite simply put it allows you to like or dislike a post. Once you have liked or disliked a post a link will appear saying : Liked by you (remove) so if you change your mind or make a mistake you can remove your opinion or alter it. This functionality is only available to EOS Members, readers who are not registered can not Like or Dislike a post. We hope this will also give the opprtunity to the thousands of EOS members who do not normally get involved in threads actively, an opportunity to share their opinon on the quality of the content posted. So if you feel a post was helpful or even funny please "like it" and if you think it was not very helpful please "dislike" it. All likes and dislikes are anonymous but we will be keeping a tally of the likes and dislikes per member as we "may" decide to tie the number "likes" in with the number of stars a member has beside his or her username in the post header. This way they would have more credibility as it wouldn't just depend on the number of posts someone has written but the quality of their posts would also influence their star rating. Hope you all like the functionality....as always there is more on the way...

Hi all ! :)

These are the new updates to the site which have gone live. More changes and improvements are ont he way as we are constantly working to improve the site in all areas.

1. No HTML or emails are permitted in blog comments or name fields on blog comments. This will contribute to reducing spam comments.

2. It is now configurable who can comment on your blog/articles. When you activate a new blog or edit a blog you can choose if registered or non registered users can comment on your blog. If you choose registered users the comment procedure is much faster for the reader as they do not have to fill in the "captcha" texts and numbers. All comments then can be traced to a user so spam should be a thing of the past and if it does happen we can block the user. If they are not registered they will be invited to register, if they want to leave a comment. If you allow non registered users to comment, anyone can leave a comment. We are working on more features to control spam from this area too so your blogging experience will be the best possible.

3. People who now leave a comment have the option to select an email alert, which will let them know that the blogger or someone else has left a reply/comment on the same post they have. This will help improve traffic to the blogs and also facilitate the quick response to comments left by readers. This only works for registered users and any one who wishes to remove themselves from this alert at a later date can do so by clicking on the link in the email alert that they receive.

4. The problems with modifying your avatar and viewing it in "my profile" have been corrected and this functionality now works perfectly.

5. Bloggers/Users now have their own photo folder to store and edit their photos. You access this folder by selecting the image icon in the text editor and it will take you to your user folder where all your photos are stored and can be reused without uploading again. Now you only have access to your folder and not the multiple folders that were visible before. This makes it much more user friendly and easier to control.
