Official EOS Blog

We're always working really hard to bring you new and exciting features to Eye on Spain. We also make plenty of mistakes so we want to use this blog to keep you up to date with what's new (and what's wrong) with EOS.

Web cam down
Saturday, June 21, 2008

Just thought I'd let you know that we've been moving all the office around so the web cam will be down for a fews days.

It's going to be in a new position with a much better view so it will be worth the wait!

We'll try and get it up and running again by Monday.

Newsletter will be late this week
Monday, June 9, 2008

The weekly EOS newsletter may not go out until Wedensday this week as I'm going to be in hospital over the next 24 hours having an operation!

It's nothing major, they're just chopping bits off of my nose so that I can breathe better, although I am a nervous wreck today!

See you all tomorrow....

New EOS home page video
Friday, June 6, 2008

We've just uploaded a video about EOS to the home page.  Susan and I are in it and I cringe every time I watch it!

But I think it presents a friendly intro to the site.

Have a look.

Hope you like it.

New Spain maps service
Monday, June 2, 2008

Google map of SpainWe've just added a new section on the site where you can look up any maps of Spain.  It works using Google maps and we're going to be integrating the map facility throughout the site.

You can also use it to get driving directions to any location in Spain.

My favourite feature is the "Satellite" overlay.  If you click the "Satellite" button at the top right of any map, you can get a satellite image of the area.  Then use the zoom function to zoom right in and see what's happening on the ground!

The images aren't live and some may even be a couple of years old but if the images in your area are quite new it's a great way of keeping track of the progress of the build of your development.

Do you like this Spain maps feature?  Would you like us to integrate anything else into these maps?

Welcome to the official blog
Monday, June 2, 2008

Welcome to the new official blog for EOS.  We thought it would be a good idea to keep you in the loop as to what's happening here.  You wouldn't believe the number of things that we're going to be introducing to the site over the next few months.

We've just finished recording a new video about EOS which is going on the home page very soon.  Our friends at Sol Channel recorded it and we think they've done an excellent job with it, although I think I look more of a geek on it than I really am :(

Anyone want to preview if for us and let us know what you think?

We've also just approved the new look for EOS.  It's a fresh new look which looks very web 2.0.  We're really happy with it but it's going to take us another 3 - 4 weeks to roll it out.   Why do these things take so long?

Anyway, just a tiny taste of what's coming.  There's loads so we're going to be keeping you up to date with everything here as we can never fit it all into the newsletter.

BugsAlso, whilst I was in the gym this morning the blog facility went down again!

Sorry to all those affected.  It's been a lot of work to get this up and running but we think we're about 95% there in terms of getting the bugs out of the system.  We're still looking for more people to start blogs, it's really great to have your own space on the Internet.

Give it a try!

Justin
