Hi Folks,

Don't know if I am the only one who has noticed this, but I am getting fed up at being ripped off at Alicante airport for a bottle of water, 750ml priced at €3.45, bl**dy awful, considering you can get the same bottle at Bristol airport for £0.99p which I think is steep compared to supermarket prices. On top of the over pricing you will find if you try to purchase the same bottle of water in any of the food areas in Alicante, it is the same price, is this not price fixing?

I have complained about this to my local euro MP, a waste of time, and also the EU commision for Air Travellers, again a waste of time, I wish I had the brains to set up and on-line pettion thing, I bet there are a lot of folks that are not happy with this situation, especially those with kids trying to travel through this God awful airport.

Does anyone know of decent reasonably priced builders in the Xativa area of Valencia, I think my house is very unwell and needs some TLC, any ideas would be welcome, I don't mind if they are Spanish, English, or other as long as they don't mess me about.

Is it difficult to move direct debits from one bank to another in Spain? Do you need to get the banks to do it or is it the same as in the UK, that you just inform the companies that make the charge on your account? I am leaving BANKINTER as thier charges are going through the roof and moving to BARCLAYS as they now have a no charge account called 'Blue Shoots'. Any of you wonderful people out there got any ideas?

This is sick, how many more innocent Brits are going to get it in the neck like this before the Spanish government does something to stop it.

I think we should start demolishing houses in the UK where Spanish families live, I hate the idea of 'eye for eye' but it might make someone in their government sit up if they discovered that for every British house they knock down we would knock down one here belonging to ex-pat Spanish.

Many Thanks to all of you for your help, It now looks like there are some choices out there, and it also seems that Bankinter need to get there act together, there are three familys in our village banking with them, but I think they all will be looking for new accounts very soon.
