Hmm, thanks everyone for your replies. We are looking just inland from the coast rather than high up in the mountains. So i guess aslong as we prepare ourselves properly (ie buy a couple of gas heaters and some nice PJ's) we will probably make it though the winter.

Guess it can't be any worse than South Wales with only storage heaters!!!!

Hi everyone, following on from my thread about looking for a house to rent in Murcia I wondered if anyone living down there could shed some light on why none of the houses i've looked at have any form of heating except log stoves. I've have visited the area a couple of times and do understand that its a lot warmer than up here in Asturias, but i just wondered if someone down there could give me some first hand knowledge of what the temperatures are like down there during the winter months? Thanks

Hi. We are looking for a country house or villa in a quiet location in Murcia but with good access to local amenities and airport (no particular area in mind!). Ideally the property should be fenced and secure/safe for animals as we have cats. Space for vehicles would also be a must. We would prefer something roomy and unfurnished as we do have a lot of stuff!! We currently live in Asturias and the earliest we could realistically move would be the beginning of November and we would be renting in excess of 12 months. We are reliable and genuine business people looking for a nice, clean property. Many thanks Jane.

Thread: Wanted Long Term Rental in Murcia

Hi all, we currently live in the north of Spain and for lots of reasons we are looking to head south. Andalucia, Valencia and Murcia are areas we are looking at. But given how huge these areas are we need suggestions of locations to investigate. We can't consider being in large cities or towns as we have a large family of cats coming with us. However, we don't want to be too isolated so within walking distance of a small town or village would be ideal. An established expat community would be great too. We're very open to suggestions as at the moment it's like looking for the proverbial needle in the haystack! Thank you in advance for any help you can offer!

Thread: Suggestions on a Postcard to...

Hi Everyone, i realise this is a very vague question but i guess we have to start somewhere! My Wife and I currently live in Asturias but feel we want to move to experience another part of Spain and have decided upon Catalunya. So my very open question is does anyone have any suggestions for place to start looking! We  currently live in a very small village up in the hills but feel it is a little too isolated, there are no shops or bars in the village and the nearest town is about 15 windy Km away), so we are looking for comewhere in a small village but with facilities and rural ie large village rather than cities. We are both walkers/skiers and enjoying the outdoors so good countryside around us is essential (we both ride motorcycles too so good roads would be a bonus too)

I realise that everyone's idea of a wonderful place to live is different but i am open to any suggestions just so we have somewhere to head to whenwei start searching.

Sorry, but also what is the house rental market like over in Catalunya? We currently pay 450€/m for a three bed house.

Many thanks Tony
