I know its old news now, but i need to mention that i had my windows damaged some time this week/last week.....not sure when as I only noticed it yesterday. I'm on the ground floor and my guest room is set back a little way, but next to the path.  It seems some one has been trying to get into the apartment by forcing the windows apart, there is some damage on the frame which looks like a flat screw driver or some thing similar.... luckily i had extra locks fitted a few months ago, a small heavy duty metal bar is inserted all the way through both windows which makes it impossible to allow the windows to slide, these were fitted by a lovely man who lives further up the coast, if any one wants his number i can send you a PM. Money well spent i can tell you.  However this has really un nerved me, i would like to get an alarm system fitted soon, did any one get the details for the pre-wired system which is in all the apts?  Any update would be appreciated.
Take care, wishing you all a happy safe new year.

Bernie,

Sorry to read about this.
I'll PM you for details of the man who fixed your window locks.

You might also like to consider the Chubb wireless alarms from Screwfix.com

All,

Just to report that the security barrier at the entrance is still out of order !

In the last two weeks I've not seen any security patrols either- that's not to say there aren't any - just that they are not that regular.

On reflection if I has known /foreseen of the poor level  of security  whilst construction is still on-going    I would have   insisted
on not completing my purchase until the site construction is fully completed and the residents community was firmly in control.

At this stage the developer is effectively in control  of the community    and that the developer is clearly not as concerned about the barrier being in
working order.

**  Note also two photos  just loaded on 2nd Jan 2008.
These show hand marks on front bedroom windows.
It looks as those someone has been trying to life and slide the windows.
One of these was  a first floor, block 7   and the second was a ground floor on block 17.
But as both apartments appeared to be unoccupied it's a puzzle as to  why anyone would try to enter them.

Paul

Good photo shot of their hands if not finger prints?

If the windows haven't been cleaned is it worth reporting to the police for finger prints? Perhaps it's the same guys that keep breaking in to other apartments. Nothing much to go on I guess.

Thanks for all the efforts to improve security.
