yes, we plugged our sky box in on our last visit and it worked fine for most channels but you can't get BBC 1-4, ITV 1-4 or Channel 5. For some strange reason we could get channel 4 though. We still have our sky subscription in UK and as well as the box you obviously need to take your viewing card as well. I assume though, if and when I cancel the subscription, I will only get the freeview channels, this I can't test until I do so.
I have sky plus but because there is only one line you cannot record whilst watching or being tuned into another channel so sky plus is not very effective any more but at least we can get the signal which is the main thing without needing to install a dish.
When we move out we will reconsider getting a mesh installed as it will save paying the UK subscription which I believe in Spain is only 20 euros a month and we should get all the channels (I think).
