i see from the latest communication from Resortalia that it has been decided tha as of next year ther will be an extra security guard to police holiday makers having fun in the pools ! I think that if people decide to live on a golf resort then they must accept that holiday makers will have fun in the pools I have owned on las terazzas go 4 years I spend every summer there I have no objection to people enjoying them selfs we need the holiday makers they bring revenue to the resort and what's wrong with them bringing the holiday atmosphere ? You can't have your cake and eat it !  In my opinion it's a waste of our resources to appoint extra security to stop people having fun People that live on the resort have it all ther way for 11 months of the year If living on a holiday resort is not for them then why do they choose to live there ?

Hi Susan,

I think the document from Resortalia that you refer to is misleading. The intention is not to increase the number of security guards but to upgrade the pool guard we have for August to a fully trained vigilant able to patrol on

his / her own.

The purpose of the pool patrol is not to stop owners and their families having fun, but to ensure that there are no health and safety issues and that  everyone enjoys their visit to Terrazas.

An important benefit of having a pool patrol is to enforce the wristband protocol, which is the most effective method of “persuading” owners to pay the community fees that are due. Typically during July and August we receive in excess of €50,000 of outstanding fees. A much quicker and more effective process than using the Spanish Courts.

Best wishes

Henry Reed

Henry thank you for your comments and opinions I am of the opinion that Our security should be concentrating on security issues as I understand it they will be expected to monitor the activities of holiday makers just enjoying themselves and having fun (they are on holiday !) so what if they get a bit loud it gos with the territory In my opinion there are a small minorty of owners that perhaps should go and live in the peace and quiet ! If we can afford these extra security measures then let's police the real problems not guests having fun or children playing !!

Hi susankeeping,

We all signed up to the rules of the community when we bought apartments at Las Terrazas de la Torre. These rules are there to ensure the enjoyment of the community by all community members, not just those who want to party loudly in the pool areas and golf course bunkers after dark. Yes, there really were some people who had a barbecue in a golf course bunker last summer ....

Having said that, I have nothing against owners or their tenants having fun and note that the committee have in fact been relaxing rules in the pool areas in the summer months. For example, they have sanctioned the use of inflateable toys etc in the pool in peak season. There needs to be a balance between the party animals and the peace lovers and if the party animals can't stick to the rules then they need to be policed.

As Henry points out, this is not just about the nuisance behaviour of some, it is also a health and safety issue. I believe a drunken mother almost fell into the pool with a child in a pram last summer. I am sure we all don't want any children drowning at Las Terrazas.

By day it is also about ensuring people who use the pools are paying to maintain them. I am sure the vast majority of owners support this policy.

As an aside, the holidaymakers don't bring revenue to the majority of owners on the resort, only to those who rent out their apartments.

Hi Duncan Thanks for your comments I have no problem at all with rules ! My point is that I think that spending our resources on an extra security guard to police pools in the summer is a good idea but not a priority I had heard of some incidents on our resort this summer and this sort of behaviour is cannot be tolerated I along with my family and friends also have personally witness the actions of a drunk driver on the resort just recently If we can afford extra security for our pools then I think the matter of drink driving should also be addressed in fact In my option it is a very serious problem !

I don't disagree Susan and extra security is always a good thing. I think Henry said that the idea was to upgrade the pool guard to a fully trained vigilant who can also patrol and police other activities such as intruder detection, drunk drivers etc.

I don't think it is a bad idea.
