Can anyone clarify for me how the pool at Hacienda San Cayetano will be run/managed?  Will it be for the exclusive use of the owners?  Will it be open to the general public on a pay-per-use basis?

I have spoken to people who have bought property on the development and who were under the impression that the pool was a communal one for the owners on the development.  Others have said that it is to be a municipal one, like the rest of the sports facilities on site.

Apparently, the "pool" is now only going to be an 8 x 4 foot plunge pool...it will cost 25 euros an hour to use, and must be booked 3 months in advance !!!!!!   ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;  or, in other words, nobody knows, and Taray are not letting on, must be a secret !....its a wait and see pool....sorry we can not be more helpful, but as it will be the very last item put in place on the complex, there will be plenty of time for our imaginations to run riot.

Hi Shiela

Are you joking about the pool? Because if your not that is not what we were expecting at all. 25euros p/h to use.... are Taray having a laugh or what?when we bought this property we were told it was a communal pool for the owners on the site and then others outside could pay to use it.  8 x 4??? isnt that really small?

Thank god for that!! I thought that was the case but i wasnt 100% sure so thought i would get a bit fired up as its been a quiet day he he.

Im going to try the owners club and see if i can find out what th situation with the pool is. If i find out it really is going to be a 8x4 pool   then i shall rent my bidet out for just 15 euros per hour.

Ive just been looking at cave houses in Murcia... starting to wish we went for one of those they are fabulous.

When we originally bought through Parador, their website was advertising a communal pooI.  Their website is now referring to municipal sports facilities.  That's where my concern stems from. I e-mailed Parador's Owner's Club about the pool at the development a while ago.  Their response:

"I have checked our website and this does state municipal leisure centre, which includes swimming pool.  There will be a municipal leisure centre, swimming pools, tennis courts, putting ranges and other sport facilities.  The swimming pool will be run by - the builder - for the first 30 years and then handed over to the local council to run and maintain.   ... this development will provide excellent facilities."

I have looked at other companies advertising properties at the development for sale and they are still talking about a "communal" pool.  No wonder I'm confused!  No, actually, I feel I have been mislead by someone/something somewhere along the line.

HI

Im inclined to agree with you. We were also told it was a communal pool and we purchased our property July 06. Mislead indeed. Im sure there is something in the contract stating the builder has the right to change certain specifications on things. Oh well fingers crossed and hope for the best. Im sure it will look lovely but it wont be so lovely if we have to pay to use it. I was hoping to plough through many lentghs in that pool!!

Hi All

When we reserved our property last May we were told the pool & facilities would be run by the local council & that you would be able to buy weekly or daily passes - an indication was given of a weekly pass at approx 10 euros a week, but this could not be confirmed as we were told the pool would not be built until Summer 2008.

Our agents Medsea advised us that the advantage of this was that the community charges would not be loaded as you would only pay for it when you used it, I guess it is as broad as it is long as the up keep has to be paid for some way.

I seem to remember that there have been some threads on this forum about another pool being built in the village near to the school (or am I dreaming that???) so possibly things have changed & also there will be pools on the new phases over the road.

It seems that this issue has been discussed before - I had a look back at old posts, before September 2006.

It seems that people were as unclear then as we are now.  One person had been reassured by their agent that it would all be sorted out when the community for their area of the development was set up, but obviously under the impression that it would be a communal pool paid for through the community charge.  Someone else was told it would be on a pay per use basis with a charge of €1 or €2.

I e-mailed my Spanish solicitor (recommended by the agent) seven weeks ago and I haven't yet got a response!

I have emailed our owners club also and as soon as i get a reply i shall post it on here...... lets see if its any different to what you have been told.

How frustrating that we cant just get a straight answer!!! Surely someone at Taray must know

Hi,

This has definitely been discussed before.

Taray told us about the pool being municipal, when we reserved our house easter last year. Taray are going to manage the pool for 30 years. You can buy a yearly, monthly  etc ticket - we were told that the fee will be nominal - perhaps 10Euros a week for a pass for the house. This means that our community charges will be very low, and all the maintenance costs for the pool will be the responsibility of the builders. They are also going to build other social facilities, a club house, golf range tennis courts etc.

Just to confuse you all a bit more this is the reply i recieved from our agents owners club today

Thank you for your e-mail.  The swimming pool on site will be a communal pool, expected to be completed whenever the whole urbanisation is finished, and no you will not have to pay to use this facility.  However there is a municipal swimming pool 5-10 minutes walk from San Cayetano due to open at the end of next month, you will have to pay to use this swimming pool.

Kind regards.

Hi Iain

Thats great your having your own pool. We dont have enough pennies or room for that  so will just have to hope the communal one works out. If not we will have to sneak into yours when your out..... just kidding

We are out for a month around about the same time as you, so nearer the time ill pm you and maybe we can all meet up with the kids etc

Rosita and Pat the pool by the school is council run (so the teachers at the school said anyway). It should have been open a few months ago i think

Tina
