Hi

Does anyone know if we get discounted green fees to play at Roda if you have bought at Corvera?

We are heading out next week for a visit.

Thanks

JP

Yes you do, the same as you would at Corvera if you have not taken up a membership

I played last week at Roda. Not a bad course either altho a bit of the aesthetics would need to be finished. I did enjoy it tho and it has a lot of potental. It plays a bit harder than it's length (around 6,800 yards I think) - which is relatively average nowadays. Some nice features, and the 2 holes in front of the clubhouse are testers, especially the last (par 5) if you are going for it in 2. A few good holes around the back 9 wich showed you don't need overly long holes to have good challenges with nice water features. A lot of bunkers as well which are very well placed.

I wasn't asked about Corvera when I played, only was I staying at Roda. I suppose I should have said it myself. However they were doing a deal for golf and a (3 course) lunch/dinner which was very good value. i.e. €75 for golf, or €79 for golf and dinner.

Hi Frank

I played Roda last week myself. I thought the course was a good test with some interesting holes. The fairways were a bit grim though. More sand than grass. The greens were excellent and ran true.

I also played La Torre and it was fantastic. The course was much superior to Roda. Lets hope the link with the PGA will mean the course at Corvera will be of a similar standard. La Torre sets the benchmark for me and was 60 euros.

Also, worth noting if you have bought at Corvera you are entitled to a 20% discount on green fees at Roda.

Regards

Jonathan

The guy whose house we rented also played La Torre while we were there, and he prefers it to Roda (plus it's cheaper as you say). I only got the chance to play one course so I chose Roda as we were in Los Alcazares (altho nearer Los Negros we thought as we were so close to the 525), and I wanted to see the Calidona style layout etc. In saying that, La Torre is nearer completion so I reckon Roda will look better in a year or so. It was my own fauly for not mentioning Corvera when booking, but the deal with the lunch was probably as good value.

We actually hired a car and drove all around Murcia, and visited La Torre (for curiousity). It does look very good and very well presented as a resort. And because it's so big, it will be very self inclusive - particularly for people with no cars and who don't want/need to leave their resort. Whilst snooping, one lad doing his snag let us in to se his apartment in La Torre.

But we are obviously hoping the alleged quality of the course at Corvera, plus the facilities will attract a more golf holiday style tourist who probably will be hiring a car and will pay the extra.

I hope to be back again before the end of the year and will do another check all around the area for updates. In the meantime I'll keep myself updated from this site.

I played both courses and i must say that Roda is a far beter golf course and resort.  Furthermore Roda has a far better location, is not overly cramped with houses, feels more like a golf course, does not overly rely on water features and is Not designed around a housing estate like La Torre. Anybody who feels La Torre is a better resort must be mad, or mad because they bought into the marketing hype that Polaris heavily relies on in order to sell copious amount of property.  Wake up!

Obviously Roda is a better resort, that was never in question but in my opinion the course design and condition at la torre was superior to roda.

I'm not sure who you are arguing with Gazzer. I said I didn't play La Torre, altho the guy we rented the house from did, and he prefers it. Possibly simply because it is nearer completion, and a bit more "green" (i.e. no scrubby patches), but also possibly because I got the impression he is not a serious golfer and finds it easier, which I believe is the attraction of Polaris for non golfers as Roda and Corvera will be aimed at more serious players.

I quite enjoyed Roda, altho it is not the longest course, and as a Corvera buyer I was more interested in seeing it as a development. It is coming along nicely and I look forward to seeing it again later in the year.
